Man, I've never encountered such blatant cheating like this.
I'm sure now and again some of the guys may not have clicked as many as they should have after taking some damage, but I've never noticed it.

What kinda hive of scum and villany are you Tatooine residents playing in??!

I have one I will share me and two friends of mine were playing a friendly game. My wife was away at school, I had a crappy team mostly x-men with prof x from m&m was my best piece. Well one of them had ultimate Thor and Hulk on a 500 point team.
Well my other friend had a descent team they had been hand to gland all evening, So the smack talk was very heavy. Both of there teams were pretty chewed-up at this point so I think to myself here is my chance. I round the corner incap ULT Thor and bring the rest up for attack after three rounds of tie up Thor one chance came to make a huge roll he blows the roll curses Thor to Valihalla and throws him on the table and cracks the head and arm off him. Well by this time I am laughting so hard I am nearly crying. my other friend is rolling on the floor of his apartment.
Sorry for the grammer I can barely write this LOL just remembering it.

we have this one guy that we know always "miss clicks" his figures, and always denies that he cheats. One time when we were playing his opponet asked if he took the right amount of clicks. He got very frustrated and shouted out "I have not cheated in two weeks"
Now we quote that every time he claims he never cheats.

In the 6 plus years I have been judging this game I have seen a bunch of weird and wacky stuff, some "I can't believe they did that" incidents, and "what were they thinking" moments.

I think one of the ones that I'll remember forever is when a 10 year old boy pulled a Zombie Hulk during an event and one of the other players tried telling him it was a common figure and offered him a bunch of lame #### for it. Luckily, I saw what was going on, as did some other players and we hammered that lying player down and he never came back to that store.

Another time we had a player who LOVED to find loopholes in the rules and exploit them or ply "cheesey" teams just for the purpose of pissing the other players off. Well, I decided to build a team that stopped him dead in his tracks. I had a ton of perplexers that upped Nightcrawlers damage and attack and he shot out and killed the main figure on the other guys team in two turns.
This player got so mad he literally threw the figures across the store and yelled "There is NO WAY to combat that, I can't believe how unfair that is".
To which the other players pointed out how that is exactly the same way he has been playing with his team (albeit in a different manner than my own). He sold his ENTIRE collection to the store that day and never returned.
(*** I should note that I was actually a player for that game and let another judge run the event that week, as I really wanted this player to taste his own #### for running other players off).
I'm going to hit him really, really hard with a big green boxing glove............ I'm kidding. - Hal Jordan

I've seen this happen multiple times, but it still cracks me up. Some of the players at my venue are rather superstitious about their dice. That is to say, if they roll poorly enough, they will swap out dice. The following things have happened with these players:

-One guy changed dice five times in a single round. At least he wasn't cheating.

-We play in a back room with a door out to the dumpster in the alley. On several occasions, these guys open the door and throw their dice in the dumpster.

-Our venue has pizza ovens and a freezer stocked with Totino's burritos, Hot Pockets, etc... To punish the dice, one guy would get up from the table, take them to the freezer and stick them in there until the next tourney. And the owner lets him.

Ok this is going back aways in the way back machine.

So we all remember when the Heralds were participating prizes for coming to certain tournaments.

Ok so I had one player who was in school still and I believe he had either something to do with theater or some academic bowl on the day I was running a specific game, where one of the Heralds was the participation prize. So any way I have all of my other players ready to go and play. And suddenly here comes the venue owner and a older woman with him and he was waving his arm to get my attention. So I tell my players they can start the first round. The owner tells me this is the Aunt to one of my players and he sent her to proxy play for him so he can get his Herald figure. I almost broke a rib laughing sooo hard. I politely sat her down and explained to her how to play the game...a very basic version and how her realtive really enjoyed the game. Now I could see in her eyes she did not want to hang out with us and play. So after I quicky explained to her how to play the game.

In my once a year Nice act for the year I handed her the Herald figure and told her to tell him the next time he can not make it to a game he can call me or email me to let me know and we can figure something out as long as I have stuff left after those who came and played got theirs. Then I could possibly figure something out on some later date. And lastly I told her to mess with him, when he asked for the figure. Tell him it was yours because you went and played and not him. Which she had an evil grin on her face and said that was a great idea.

So in the end it was funny to see one of my players send a relative in to get his participation prize.

I'm not a judge, but I watched a judge get pretty exasperated with my opponent in a tournament once. Basically, this guy (well, he was a kid, but so was I then) got it into his head that Man-Bat should get extra points for KOing Batman. This wasn't that unreasonable an idea, I suppose, since the archenemy mechanics were still around, but Man-Bat and Batman aren't arch enemies. I explained this to my opponent, but he would not believe me. He insisted he should get extra points if Man-Bat beat Batman.

I called the judge over, who explained that that wasn't how things worked, and the game continued, but he kept bringing it up. It was some sort of weird fixation or something with him.

He also had no idea how to play the game, and got almost every rule wrong. The judge spent most of the round at our table, basically reteaching my opponent the game.

At the end of the tournament, I got fellowship. I honestly believe it was for not freaking out during that match.
Trying to catch up after five or six years away from the game.

I've seen this a bit at my venue. One of the players has a real propensity for missing by one when he makes attack rolls. One day, he had missed every roll in a match (along with getting a few crit misses) and eventually became so flustered that he angrily threw the dice in the garbage (and he's normally one of the calmest players, so I really feel for him). Later, the venue owner fished them out of the garbage and gave them to a friend of his who hoped he could "turn their [the dice's] luck around." That guy didn't fare better, so he gave them back to the venue owner. My brother heard of it and decided to use them as a joke. Oddly enough, he rolled two crit hits in a row the first time he used them. Now he keeps them as his lucky dice (one man's trash is another man's treasure).

What was even better was that the original player actually had several pairs of identical dice that all failed him like the original. Another player and I took the two pairs that he later threw out (on different dates). Now, whenever any of us need a particular lucky roll, we use our individual pair of "Tom's dice" (which exasperates Tom to no end).

Unhappy
I just moved across state and found this place that plays clix every saturday. This was actually 2 days ago. The prize was Thor the reigning, well anyways I show up with a 300 point team and find out that I am 100 points shy and having nothing else with me I asked the judge if it would be cool if I could still play since it was all still HoT figures and fit their scenario. I had Heimdall with Nanoarmor and protected, Gharskygt, and 2 Asgardian Warriors. The judge giggled and said it would be okay. We talked a minute or so about having an undercosted team and made sure that we both understood since everyone else was playing with 400 point builds. He told that I would have to divide 100 pts among my figures and add it to my build total so it would equal around 400, so 25 pts for each figure was 398. I thought it was fair enough. The tournament starts and he pairs everyone up, having 7 people there, someone got a buy round. The tournament starts and I am pretty talkative during my games so me and the guy I am playing start having a casual conversation, just trying get to know one another and talk about the area. There doesn't seem to be any issues except every so often the other players and even the judge would interrupt us just to poke fun at him. I couldn't tell if they were joking or not and seeing that he wasnt to bothered, so I just brushed it off and thought nothing more of it. I did okay with my with what I had and went 2-1, losing a Warrior to a 208 point stealthy loki. At the end of it all the judge handed out prizes, I won fellowship for my team and being the new guy. Some other kid won the tourney, I didn't really care about the prize because I already had the Thor the Reigning so I asked the guy from the first game if he wanted it because we had a fun game. Well the judge made a big huff and took the prize from me and gave it to someone else. Well being confused and not wanting to make a scene. I decided it was time to leave. The judge followed me outside to my truck and told me that he was sorry. Then he told me that they don't like giving that particular person prizes because he wins to much and sells some of his stuff on Ebay. I just shook my head and left confused by all the whole scene. Not sure if I am going back there, and feeling kinda bad for the other player.

I'm not a judge (though I was in the process of becoming one when WizKids took its year-long header), but lately there's been a funny thing going on at my venue.

One of our frequent players has a distinctive way of rolling his dice: head down (almost as if in prayer or building up chi or chakra, anime-style), he'll shake the dice for as long as 3-7 seconds before rolling. Anyhow, one of the other players started imitating his rolling style, invoking his name as a Catholic might a patron saint. It's quite hilarious to all in the know.
God is smarter than we are. Trust Him. ...

Back when I was a judge. I had received the most wanted LE at the time (Arthur Curry LE). This was just after the Indy Set came out but before the those LE were given out. I made it well known that I had received it and I had a huge turn out that day. I had 21 people playing for it. This was a standard 300 point tournament. Needless to say I had a group of 6 individuals come in. They were friends of a friend of a regular that played there occasionally. I always had some problems with the guy. Mostly due to hygene and not understanding the rules. Needless to say I found out this was why he was so bad.

I didn't have any problems with anyone the whole game other then LoF issues. Except for this group. Round 1 Iron Man Running Shot with Range Combat Expert don't work together. They argued up and down about this. I had another one arguing saying they could shoot at grounded while soaring. Smelly guy tried to pull a fast one on one of the kids, outwitting a stealth character when he standing next to him. He had done this several times before and I have repeatably told him that its against the rules.

Round 2 came around and I noticed one guy perplexing up the attack by +5. Told him he can't do that. Rule of 3 was in effect. The guy was using the old flight rules where you could carry someone and attack. He had his green lantern carrying around bane with Hookers. I told them NO you can't do that its in the rules. Which I had explained at the start of the session. (I was one of the few people that knew about the rules ahead of time. I had most of the regulars already use to this way of playing.) Needless to say he grabbed his figure threw it at me. Pretty much I was done at this time. I told him to leave. He packed up the stuff and 5 of the 6 guys left with him. From what I found out from the 6th guy is that was his posse. He plays like that all the time and has house rules. He says the guy thinks wizkids rules don't make sense. He always is the winner due to the house rules. The last guy became a semi regular. He showed up once or twice a month. He became a very good player. Although he always used DC.... BOOO DC BOOO!
