Anybody else seen this garbage yet? I was gonna do a mini-review but the movie isn't worth your or my time. Michael Bay Productions, you suck! Quit making these worthless remakes. Its bad enough your own movies are complete junk. Skip it.
The remake was devoid of any suspense, whatsoever.

A better approach would have been for Freddy to have been innocent all along; the real culprits were the parents or the teachers at the school. Nancy is able to confront him in the dream world and "separate" him from the evil force driving him to kill the teenagers. However, the "entity" traps both Freddy and Nancy in the dream world; Freddy sacrifices himself to let Nancy escape, after which Freddy is consumed.

What exactly happened in the last scene? Is Freddy a spirit trapped in the real world, now, or was Nancy asleep and dreaming that Freddy pulled her mother into the mirror as an homage to the dream sequence ending of the original? Having Freddy be a threat in the real world is an interesting concept, but is too derivative of The Ring/The Grudge/Mirrors.

The same thing that happens in the original, basically.
i have seem all of the Nightmare on Elm Street Movies, but i like this movie quite a bit. It was not supposed to be scary, as most slasher films are not. And there as huge horror fan, i never expect any suspense in a slasher film. As slasher films are not made to be scary or suspenseful. And i thought Jackie Earl Haley played Freddy quite well, and there were some funny lines he said.
But the only problem i had with it was the fact that they changed the original story a bit, freddy was a child molester instead of a child killer which he was in the orginal story, but i can see why they did that. As child murder is usually stayed away from in movies.
Haley was too flat for me. Freddy delivered in a monotone doesn't exactly feel right. I mean, don't ape Englund, but I'd like something a little more Fred-tastic.

Slasher movies are not supposed to be scary or suspensful???? That's the entire friggin point of them!!!! The original Nightmare and Halloween were both suspensful and scary- which is why they are looked back on so warmly by us old school horror fiends!!! Maybe that's why these remakes are so bad now- people no longer expect or demand quality-even in their horror.Hacks like Bay make movies with only money on their mind and dont care about the final product as long as it makes them some money on opening weekend before word of mouth kills it.
Kid's today want their horror without suspense or actual horror???? Might as well just go to the next Paul Blart movie.

Thank you for saving me the trouble of writing a response.
A Horror fan who thinks slasher films are neither scary or suspenseful, is not a fan of Horror at all...
