If anyone is interested in learning How to play Heroclix. These YouTube series should helpout and get you in the game ASAP. I'm making a videos to show new players how to play Heroclix, using the DC Blackest Night Starter Set.
I thought this might be a good idea, because the new starter just came out and its possible alot of new players still don't understand the game.
I filmed the video and I have over 1 hour of footage to edit down into a watchable video on my youtube channel. I know alot of you guys watch my videos and I just wanted to say thanks alot for doing that.
If anyone has tried to teach a new player, you know its not a simple task. So, I'm hoping this video can teach a few new players how this games works. I did have to cut things out and I could not go over everything because its just too much to cover all in one video and I believe it would do more harm to new players than good. This video is just the basics, and it covers most of everything two players will need to know to play a friendly game.
Because I believe if they can play like this at home, then they can atleast enjoy the game. And then if they find a place to play then the judge could go over all everything in more depth.
I will also, answer any questions anyone has, and will make more videos to show extra gameplay that I didnt cover in this video.
I want to finish saying, I don't think I'm the best player or even that I know more than anyone. Because I know this is not true. I'm only here to help new players learn the game, and this video will not be perfect and I might even miss something simple while im explaining how things work. I hope you all can go easy on me if I do make any mistakes, and state them out, with the correct answer nicely so I can correct them as fast as possible.
Here is a link to my channel, the video is not fully editing yet but I do have a update video for the How to play heroclix you can check that out if you like, and I also have around 9 heroclix reviews up as well on my channel along with tons of other videos. I hope you check it out and give me some feedback as to know if this is a good idea or not. And if you have any requests.
Fantastic Intro Video! Great coverage for new players to the game. Thank you for doing this! I run a monthly game at gamescape-north in san rafael, ca and while we have a few regulars I'm always interested in resources for helping to attract new players. I can now point new players to your video resources....
I don't reccommend using terms such as "2D6". Don't forget your target audience is new players. You should say, "2 six sided dice" instead. Saying "probs" instead of "probability control" will also lead to confusion.
Also, when you are going over special powers, and you say, this character can use psychic blast, that doesn't mean anything to a new player, because they don't know what psychic blast is.
Overall good idea, but don't forget you're not talking to heroclix players. And even though I am an experienced heroclix player, I still get thrown off when I hear "2D6" and "probs", so a new player will really get lost.
Yeah, I understand what your saying, and your right. These are not perfect videos, I will be the first to say that, but I think they are better than nothing. I believe in the rule book it calls them D6, thats the only reason I used that word.
Anyways, your right some of the terms will be hard to understand. I tried my best to get it down to the basics, and I think I got close for most people without knowledge to pick it up.
Thanks for posting the videos The DC Explorer. This really helps me out.
So far, I have only been a collector (due to all the Flash related pieces). But I've wanted to learn to play for soo long and the Blackest Night Starter was the way to go (due to "BlueBarry"). So this will help me and my little brother learn to play so Thank You. Hope you keep posting more.
Oh, glad to see you found Flashes arm, felt bad when you last it cause it's a great looking figure. Hope you do a video with him. Rep.
Any other Flash would play along with you Rogues, Spar with you as if it were a game. Thats the way its always been done, No more. —The Dark Flash
