First, don't worry. Sometimes I look at all the HeroClix that I have and I get a little depressed!
Click in my signature. I have scads of old Clix for trade that I'd be willing to get rid of for cheap.
Secondly, I also have one of those metal cases for trade. It's a little beat up, but the biggest problem for you would be that I don't think it will work with the new "Oreo" bases. But if you want it for old Clix, let me know. I don't think they've made them in quite a while.
I have been using some Stanley products for my storage needs. I have currently for my travel case/trades a 19" Stanley Toolbox. The removable tray is where I keep all my trade pieces when I travel to venues and my teams/characters I want to build with are at the bottom of the toolbox and if I want to take a colossal fig with me I can since the removable tray doesnt take up the entire container top. Plus the extra storage on the top lid I can store more figs/teams/dice/cards. My cousins use a similar travel container but the one they have is the smaller toolbox, I think its 16" which works well for them. For regular storage of my collection I use a Stanley Sortmaster Organizer, a Stanley Tools 25 Compartment Organizer, and those cheap $0.50-$0.99 clear plastic shoebox storage containers you can find in any department store. Links for the items are below.
I use plano storage boxes for everything, however, does anyone have any portable storage soultions for the infinity gauntlet?
My current storage containers don't fit the gauntlet. Although, thinking about it, some of my Stanley containers I used for monpoc probably would (Nezoka has links to them in his/her post).
But for now I'm using a Star Trek booster to hold my gauntlet. Actually it fits two of them - mine & my daughters - with gems.

Damn, how can you afford them living in Mexico? I am Mexican but live in Cal. The other day I browsed Mercado Libre to see how much figures go for and they are not the cheapest. lol. If you know of any venues in Mexico please let me know.
If I was a HeroClix figure : 2 2 3 1 1
With two Cliks to KO :knockedou
They're deep, so you can fit larger figures, including some 2x2 bases like the Gauntlet.
They're deep enough to fit character cards inside easily.
And best of all, the individual compartments are removable. So if you have multiples, but only want to take one case with you, but really want to bring the Green Lanterns from your DC box and the Defenders from your Marvel box, you can put them both in the same case easily.
anyone have a shelving recommendation for storing the plano boxes on? I'm looking to organize my clix closet a little better. Currently, it's a pain to get to certain plano boxes because they are all stacked on eachother.

I posted this a few pages back, but it applies.... I was also highly frusteated with my plano type boxes and decided to switch over to these "Sterelite" drawers I picked up at Wal-Mart.
The modern sets go in the drawers with their cards and are much easier to access than the boxes, the retired figs can stay in the plano type cases and I got a big drawer for my Giants & Colossals. This only works for me because I don't bring whole boxes of figs to the events, I'll just bring the team I am playing.
Unfortunately for me I have to keep my clix hidden because of my children. Well only 1 of them would be taking them and walking around the house with them. But I have the stackable 3 Shelf organizers from target for now. And the big figures in a curio with my statues. My wife and I love heroclix, but we find we have nowhere to really keep them safely from the destroyer (my 2 year old son). Regardless I'm sure he'll be playing in no time, my 7, 5 and 3 year olds all play.
These are plastic modular drawers made by Sterilite, and are found in any local Wal-Mart in the storage section. They come in several sizes, DEEP long drawers, shallow long drawers, deep half-drawers, shallow half-drawers, deep 1/3 drawers, and shallow 1/3 drawers. They are amazingly versatile, and inexpensive considering their durability. Mine have been through 2 moves across-state, and are in pristine condition. They currently store my:
