Things like baseball, football, basketball, and (to a lesser extent) hockey ARE the world championships here in the US. It doesn't matter that the league is in the United states (with some Canadian teams). In all those sports the best and the brightest players from all over the world play in the leagues here. We are just the only country that can support it on such a scale. Plus, there are no other competing leagues worldwide. The only thing that comes close is the Olympics every four years for basketball and hockey but that is too short.
The Australian basketball team usually gives the americans a decent run for their money at the olympics. Same in Hockey.

Of course the USA isn't, but it's the biggest kid on the block in when looking at all factors of population, GDP, military power, etc. combined.
Umm....ever heard of a little country called China?

I know that people from other smaller countries want to be proud of where they come from and they should be. I mean, no one can help where they were born. It's just the way of the world, some are born to poverty and some are born with the silver spoon. Just don't try to deny reality. Coming up with excuses to try and make the big kid seem less cool doesn't actually make yourself any cooler. No one complains about the Olympics when their country is not hosting. Why? Because it is open to everyone. Not all people will compete but everyone has a chance too if they really want it.
Here's something I learnt in school. Being the 'big kid', doesn't automatically make you cool, even if most big kids think it does.
And there's a reason that the country hosting the Olympics usually does really well.
I would beat that team with a fun team up of avengers:
Thorbuster
Spiderman SI
Scarlet Witch AV
Captain America HT
You want to use your five probability control with pulse wave don't think so. You want to hit Captain America you got to get close. I just don't why people got so much problem with a figure of six clix. Also why nobody kill those jason before or when they get push to his transformation clix. You are lucky that this event are not celebrate near or in Puerto Rico. But nothing less to say but congratulation on your cheesiest and maybe cowardly victory. One more thing are you proud of winning with duplicate of the same cheese character or are you short of imagination and you don't mind. Nothing personal but I hate losing by default and see that the winner has such a cheesiest team that I could beat.
Easy. We have an awesome 200+ pt Black Adam already. We have a powerfully efficient 150pt Black Adam (The experienced one). We have a cool duo Black Adam with Shazam. And we have a few other decent options as well (The old R, V and LE versions).
Well, he wins and if he wants a new Black Adam, he should go for it...
WAt the very least, it would be nice if there were some way for national champions from other countries to get there a little easier- subsidizing their tickets or something. They've mentioned at Australian championships before, but never actually done it.
The winners of past Australian nationals have received automatic spots at the invitationals, for what it's worth. WizKids never offered to pay their way, but the invitation was there. I know that Mr_Nobody received such an invitation a few years ago.

What does that mean though? Does that mean free entry to the event? Doesn't everyone there get to compete anyway?
2 years ago at worlds they had several different countries represented, from the people that won those regionals. But yea, it was the world's championship, so it is what it is. Whether you roll your own cigarrettes, don't wear deodorant, and drink tea all the time, or are an American that thinks he is better than everyone else and has short sighted views of the world, you were all invited.
Trying to use cost as an excuse of how "not fair it is" is something that an 8 year old would say. Life's not fair, get over it.
With that I encourage the French to come show us how to roll cigs, Australians bring your crocodile everythings, Chinese be sure to bring a booster seat, and Germans bring me some chocolate cake, come next year and show us lazy, stereotype making Americans how heroclix is played!

I think it allowed automatic entry to a round that you'd normally have to qualify for; however, my knowledge of this is far from certain. Mr_Nobody wasn't planning on taking them up on it, so we only discussed it briefly.

Oh man Zero is a mod now, my Australian croc comment is going to doom me!
In all seriousness though, anyone outside of the US, quit complaining, save up some cash, and come play.
If they had the world championships in Iceland, I'd say the same thing to everyone. Save up some extra cash and go. Gencon, I think, is the biggest gaming convention in the world. People from all over the world come to it, I heard/spoke to many different people from outside of the US. Sorry, if you think you are the champ, come take the title next year. You have a YEAR to save up, if that's not doable then I don't know what to tell you.
I hope you can man. I'm sure people on the realms that are in the US and people outside the US can figure out a way to save some money for the people outside the US. Whether that be sharing hotel, sharing car costs, etc., etc. And we have a year to figure our situations out. Man a year until Gencon, that sounds so sad!
Actually, it sounds good to me. I could use a year to budget, a year to make plans, a year to butter up my girlfriend so she's not upset that I'm overseas gaming during her birthday...

I live 2 hours away from Indy so I guess it's just a slightly different situation for me... hahaha. Hope it all comes together for you.

It was my girlfriend's birthday on Friday of Gencon, and I still managed to go. Granted it cost me a good chunk of my July paychecks for her birthday present and food/drinks for the weekend, it IS possible. Bring her with you, make a vacation out of it, and surprise her with her birthday present along the way.
