Personally, if i had the opportunity to create a figure, I wouldn't go with something mainstream like Magneto. While yes we need a new one, chances are the next X-Men themed set that rolls out will have a good version of him in it anyway. I would totally go with something a bit more obscure like the Red Son Superman or Onomatopoeia. Or Sleepwalker!!!

More people need to be repping George!

Choosing just about any of the Marvel cosmic characters would undoubtedly make you very popular, but honestly, choose the guy you like the most!

It is utterly and completely correct to dub George the World Champion.

Not being able to afford coming....while that can be true, it doesn't take away from the title and his accomplishment, like you're trying to do.

The tournament is open to all. Unfortunately, neither Friday or Saturday's qualifier sold out (I think 108 on Fri and maybe 100 on Sat). In a game next to one of mine, a Canadian played a New Zealander. There were at least 2 Canadians competing. There were almost 100 people who's (whose?) nationality I do not know.

Myself personally, I save up to go to GenCon. I stay at a crackhouse hotel with some friends for $12.50/night. I eat cheaply which means badly. Maybe you can come over and play next time. We'd certainly like to have more players vying for the prize!

OP: what maps did you pick?

It's funny how another Shazam won this.

In 300pts-this is nothing.

I saw this exact same army in 600pts with this same duo and like 10 friggin' Jason Bloods-no lie.

Can you say "instant win"?

lol

I also think next year will see a resurgence of foreign players anyway. If you look at 2 years ago, for the world's championship, all the foreign winners of major tourneys were automatically entered. This year was different because it is Wizkids first year back - and their con schedule was a tad different then 2 years ago.

Depending on how the game does in the next year, seems great, maybe Wizkids will have the foreign champs return to worlds?

But yea, to declare the winner of the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS as not really the world champ is ridiculous, disrepesctful, and actually pure jealousy. You hater.

Also - Gladiator would absolutely cement this guy as my favorite person in the world next to any of my family members. That would be freaking awesome, I think I saw someone mention that.

One more edit: USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! Two years ago foreign people came and played, and guess who won?...

Wow! That team would be really obnoxious! How devious of you.

Congrats, man. What kind of dial are you looking to design?

Thinking about going next year, actually! If I start to plan and budget now it should definitely be possible.

Hope you can make it man. It's seriously a great time.

And I hope they return to having major tourneys in other countries - and giving the winner a free entry, like 2 years ago.

The team you fielded obviously capitalizes on 3 of the most dominant power staples of Clix: PC, Perplex and HSS. However it is quite bold that it did not include Outwit, TK or much range.
I was wondering how you dealt with Outwit in your games?
With the new tournament style banning feats I would think the meta game would be tilted toward stealth and outwit. HSS gets around stealth relatively well but what if you faced a team with 3 or more outwitters?
Also what map did you choose and why?

Yea not having a single outwit is pretty awesome.

I'd love to see the game played again without 2nd place trying to outwit first turn. Take that mistake away and I think the game would of been drastically different.

Not taking anything away from the winner, a win is a win, but I just would of liked to see what happened without that mistake.

OOOOOooo!

one other question which is related to another thread.
If Highlander rules were in effect for the tournament..

1. Who would you have used to replace your duplicate Scarlet Witch and Jason Blood or would you have used an entirely different team?

2. Being a tournament competitor how do you think Highlander rules for tournaments would affect the overall game?

Thanx in advance for your thoughts.

I totally agree. But then they would have to be Chase figs because I want all the Supes figs.

Seriously though, I'd think that the Red Son versions of the Trinity would probably make great Chase figs since we have multiple versions of all of them already. And to be honest, they wouldn't be all that different from their standard counterparts except, maybe, with an SP each that would represent their beliefs in that particular story. Just like I wouldn't think Amish Clark (from The Nail and The Nail 2) would be much different than 'regular' Clark.

Though with WoS, I'm not sure if Chases have been discarded fro extra SR spots or not going forward.

I asked him about his map choice as well since he said he had it going theme.

He more than likely avoided outwit by map choice and positioning.

Then when he didn't have positioning, he had dual barrier with the Witch.
Kudos that he didn't use the SIF.

Then he probably ran blocking on her with 2x mystic ta's.

I'd like to also know what figs he lost during each match.
