Since we are having an Iron Man love orgy, can I request that someone mod a FCBD Iron Man into Pepper with her R.E.S.C.U.E. armor? That or the Ultimates Iron Man would look even better as R.E.S.C.U.E.
If I had the skills I'd do it for you, but my modding skills aren't that good.
I hope in the next set we shall see a Rescue. It would be interesting to see how they represent her... she has no weapons! She'd probably have lots of great defensive powers, but no range and little in the way of damage outside Super Strength.
Thanks for giving me a dream Hawkeye in a great Avengers set!
Something I forgot to mention in my original post and review of Iron Man.
With all those blank slots.. I mentioned a special power called EMP Blast.
... but even a better idea would have been to give Iron Man Super Strength. Why do so many Iron Mans... including this one especially since the slots are empty... not have Super Strength?
All Iron Man armors have been capable of super strength... and his current armor is capable of lifting 100 tons!
So those slots with no powers should have had Super Strength.
Want to jump on Iron Man? He slams a dumpster over your head, then he uses Repulsors Upgraded to use Force Blast.
Just another reason why this Iron Man only deserves 3 out 5 stars for comic book accuracy.
Yeah... put us in a cage match.... My Avengers vs. his whatever team. And I'll make sure I have as many 150+ Avengers TA figs as possible, but still make sure I can get my free movements out of it.
"Live on Pay Per View! Disciple vs Jackstar... in the Octagon! Two TA's enter... only one TA leaves!"
Yeah... who'd pay to watch? It'd probably flop. But I would have fun meeting Jackstar and having a friendly game with him.
He was agreeing with you. It would be a tag team match!
And VGA, the Goat is right in a numbers sense. You have 3 actions in 300 pts. You have Wos Iron Man, HoT Cap, and R Mockingbird. 3 pieces. Each uses one of your tokens, Cap gives you back one, assuming Tony doesn't carry him around. Those action tokens therefore are wasted as they are not be used. The Goat is saying that if Tony had the Avengers TA, it would be another token kicked back into your pool not being used, as even some of the cheapest Avengers still have the TA and don't take a token to move.
Now, on the flip side, Goat, like I've said, competitive play is only a narrow part of this game. In higher point games, VGA's point is equally valid (and as someone who played the Avengers and JLA at all point levels, I know). The TA is not wasted on figures above 100 points, that would only be true if every game were only 300 points.
Plus, like ABF points out, and you've acknowledged, he misses out on Feat and BFC specific releted things. Again, not that the S.H.I.E.L.D. TA is bad since it now has a "free" component to it (otherwise, giving him a token to increase someone's Damage by +1? I think I'll fire the Repulsors), but a dual TA would have been cool.
I hoped I've shown both of you what each other is saying. Probaly not, but it was worth a shot.

We will pay the price, but we will not count the cost
I just received the Iron Man & Warmachine duo in the mail the other day. I must say, that I am suitably impressed with them. I'd played against them last week, and they didn't perform that well against me, so I was a little 'worried' about their point cost.
I played them in a 500 and 1,000 point game, facing the FF (with Bagman) in the 500 point game, and (among others) the Thor & Loki duo in the 1,000 point game.
They wrecked shop. They never went further into their dial than click 4 (in the 1,000 point game), but I never got to use their trait.
Get them to that 2nd or 3rd click with the Running Shot and Pulse Wave with Outwit, and they are a ball of destruction. I can't wait to play them again.

Neil Peart is the best drummer of all time. Period.
Year of the Spider-Man ---> follow along as I attempt to play Spidey (and friends) on every team for 365 days.
I'll chime in here tomorrow once I've played the duo in our local tournament. I'm going to play it with a supporting cast that refelcts Iron Man 2, so Sinister Nick Fury, Ultimate Black Widow, Happy and Pepper bystanders, and SHIELD agents as backup. Hopefully the armored duo shines.
Not removing this line from my signature until we get Killer Moth (12/17/12).
Missing IC Remakes: Whirlwind, Constrictor, Controller, Boomerang, Blizzard, Puppet Master

Is that a 500 or 600 point game?
In my 500 point game, I went with an 'Armor' theme -----> 3x AV Guardsmen, 2x R Mandroid Armor (used TK 1x to move IM/WM, then 1x to throw an objcet ) and Alias and Drag on IM/WM.
I'd be interested to see how well they do in a tournament setting.

500 points. I'm debating whether or not to include the rookie Crimson Dynamo for Whiplash.

Yeah, it's more themeatic than having Whiplash team up with all of the heroes. I can't wait to play this team...

After that IM/WM duo turned my team into swiss cheese I ordered one of my own. That common Iron Man is a beast too, that free force blast is a game changer.
You can get much the same effect from the duo IM/WM character (2/3 of the dial) if you put the feat Power Barage on him. The only difference is that the Force Blast costs you the action and the follow-up attack doesn't.
The feat also enables him to double-up on that opening triple-target energy explosion shot. With Armor Piercing on him, too, that gives him the chance to deal some incredible damage to the whole opposing team in an opening "barage."
Let's Play "Whoizzit?"

I agree that at national level tourneys, 300 points is the norm and GrumpyGoat does have a valid argument, but not a proven, be all end all case. But overall, 300 points is not the norm at most venues. A quick search in the Tournaments forum will show this to be true; i.e. at my venue, we run anything from 100 -1,000 points on a regular basis, and from my experience, the other 4 venues I play/played at are the same way.
Also, even in a 300 point game using the 202 point Iron Man, I can still easily run a competitive Avengers theme team and still utilize the Avengers TA on Iron Man. There are plenty of low-cost Avengers to choose from.

I concur.

I would say the S.H.I.E.L.D. TA is way more wasted on Iron Man than that Avengers TA is. The only useful part of the TA for Iron Man is the +1 . Why in the right mind would someone give a power action to Iron Man to modify another figure's by +1 when Iron Man can just attack with an 10 or 11 , and deal 4-6 ? From a tactical standpoint, that is just plain ludicrous to bump someone else's when I can deal 4, or 6 with Ranged Combat Expert.
Where, if he had the Avengers TA, my argument stands. I can do attacks with my lower point figures, especially if I have to maneuver my high point characters, and the Avengers TA allows me to do both without costing me any actions from my action pool.
That is just pure logic and HeroClix Tactics 101.

Awesome team! Rep forthcoming for the awesome tribute to Iron Man 2.

On a figure that expensive, you really need two targets.
The duo is outstanding in every way...
I concur on the 8 . That is pure garbage for a VETERAN Iron Man in the modern armor. He SHOULD, in the name of COMIC ACCURATENESS have 10. Rep forthcoming for wanting Iron Man to represented properly.

Also, there is Sidestep, which was a favorite of mine on Thor and Loki duo. On IM/WM I'm going to love it even more!
