Question on the monster's format. Are our teams supposed to be comprised of all monsters or are we only just going up against the 3+ monsters?
Real question is if we can just skip forward to Nov. 11th and play chess. I'm really looking forward to this one.
I'm really looking forward to the chess game also. However, the monster game is a tradition at our venue. We have done it every year for YEARS. Practically since the beginning of the game.
And we are just going against 3+ monsters. There is no limitation to what you can/cannot use as long as it's within the prescribed point total.

Cool. Some of us noobs don't have a huge collection of specialty clix.
Hey, that's fine. Cary usually tries to make it so anybody from any experience level can play. He doesn't constrict the game stipulations at all.
Also, if you ever need to borrow a figure just let me know a few days ahead of time. I am only missing a few figures out of everything that has ever been made.

(November 4th)- DESTROY ALL MONSTERS!!! Yeah, it's a little bit AFTER halloween, but it's time for our annual game against the big beasts. The Judge has adapted the rules slightly to allow play of Mage Knight's Apocalypse Dragon, Horrorclix's Cthulu, and of course, Fin Fang Foom. Everybody will be playing against AT LEAST these three beasts at the same time. 500 Points per person.

That's the week after Thanksgiving, right? If that's the case, we're just going to be doing a 400 point modern age game. No feats or BFC's. Only figures playable are from Avengers set or more current.
There will be no game this coming thursday nor will there be a game on Thanksgiving (Obviously).

Hopefully everybody looks at this. After Phil tried to confuse everybody, I texted Cary and he said that he thought he told everybody 300 points. I corrected him and he said that if everybody remembered it as 400 modern then that is what we would play. So the game on 12/2 is officially 400 points/modern age.

I just realized you guys responded to my post before. I'm only 2 months late. Yeah, my judge is Adam. Our venue is Modern Age Comics. When I first posted in this topic the name Graham Crackers Comics didn't mean much to me, but when I saw it this time I remembered Adam mentioning it a few times.
As far as the venue switching nights, right now space is an issue. Due to lack of space, tournaments have to be held after the store closes (at 7 pm). No big deal, except the other nights of the week are taken. Monday and Tuesday they are closed. Wednesday is new comic book day and the owner doesn't want to stay late (or he has extra clean up to do). Thursday is Heroclix. Friday night is Magic the Gathering. Saturday night is Dungeons and Dragons. And finally Sunday night is Yuh-Gi-Oh.
HOWEVER!
Either February or March of next year the shop is planning on moving to a larger store across the street and will have TONS of space. Not only will they be able to play during store hours if needed, we will likely be switching our night to Wednesday night.
Adam specifically mentioned Graham Cracker's when deciding on Wednesday, as well as one of our regulars recently getting a job that requires him to work Thursday nights.
We usually get 3-6 players a week right now. I am pretty much the only one that is there every week, aside from the occasional weeks I miss (like this up coming week unfortunately). Well and Adam is there every week too, haha.
For those that don't have the patience to wait for the Midwest games site to load (It took over 10 minutes to load the wallpaper!), here is a copy of the games for December.
Thursday Dec 2 - 400 pts. Modern Age rules.
Thursday Dec 9 - By request - League of Losers. Bring a team for your opponent to play as you play his team. Here are the ground rules:
- 5 actions per turn.
-All figs must be 100 pts. or more.
- NO duplicate figures.
-Team total must be between 975 - 1025 pts with NO feats.
- For all points that a team is UNDER 1000 - your opponent will get to add any FEATS he/she wants. So if you bring a team of 975 pts, your opponent can add Fortitude, or 3 Protecteds, or 2 Armor-Piercings and an Unstoppable...whatever they think will help that team out.
-For all points a team is OVER 1000 - no bonus - your opponent just gets extra points to use - but you cannot EARN more than 1000 pts in a round.
Thursday December 16 - DC 75th release - Marquee style event - 400 pts. 2 boosters.
Thursday December 23 - MIDNIGHT MADNESS ANNUAL EVENT!!!! Game set-up begins around 11-11:30 PM - first round starts at 12 Midnight!
Bring a 200 pt. team - Golden Age - with 10% feat limit. You will buy 2 boosters (whatever you want - DC 75th, WoS, anything else on the shelf). Out of the team you bring and the figures you pull - you will construct a 400 pt. team.
3 rounds - 4 actions per turn
Special rule for the evening - FOOD FOR CHARITY Re-rolls!!!!
In honor of Derek's annual Charity events - we will be doing a similar drive at the midnight event for the local food pantry.
Heres' how it will work - Bring non-perishable food goods that will be donated - canned goods, etc. You may buy a re-roll of any dice roll for one item. HOWEVER - to re-roll that same dice roll a SECOND time - it will DOUBLE to 2 food items. A 3rd re-roll of the same roll costs 4 items, etc. It will then re-set to one item when you move on to a different "roll" in the game.
Example - Smitty and Derek are vying for the win - it all comes down to a Super-sense roll. Smitty makes it - and Derek pays for a re-roll with one canned good. Smitty fails - so he pays for a re-roll of that same super-sense roll and it costs him TWO canned goods. He fails again - to re-roll would cost him FOUR canned goods. He makes it - now it is up to Derek to pay EIGHT canned goods or lose the game..You get the idea.
You may make re-rolls for you, your opponent, or that annoying guy over on the end table -- whoever you want and whenever you want.
Once again I have a variety of prizes - and EVERY player will get at least ONE prize! (Unfortunately - I have not had the time or money to get as many as in year's past - but we still have a good selection).
Prizes will include: Dr. Manhattan Colossal Figure, DC Brave & the Bold prizes - Lanterns, cards and figures, Web of Spider-man prize pack - figures and web-tokens. A few misc. LE's too.
Afterwards - we will play a battle-royale or 2 depending on how many want to play - it will cost 1 booster and 1 food good to play. Prizes for the battle royale will be Lanterns from B&tB. Same rules for Food for Re-roll apply.
Thursday Dec 30 - Bring a 100 pt. team and a 200 pt. team (must be separate teams). Golden age - 10% feat limit.
Round one - you will play your 100 pt team.
Round two - you will play your 200 pt team.
Round three - you will play BOTH teams combined for 300 pts.
