FTBC: Round 1 Building Guidelines and Matchups!
Alright!

Here we go!

Due to popular demand the names of the participants will be kept secret so you will voting in each matchup by player A or player B's squads instead of their actual names!


Round 1 team formats (remember to PM these to me and NOT post them here), NO Collossals may be used:

200:

4 characters, golden age. No pieces under 30 points, and not pieces over 75. 1 Feat card is allowed that is NOT Protected. ICwO counts as 1 feat Card.

300:

Earthquake! The Earthquake BFC is in effect in this format! Build around Modern Age pieces but with this old school Battlefield Condition!

400:

400 point Modern Age. Keywords are ignored for this round, so no theme teams.

500:

Tentpoles. One figure must be over 200 points. 8 figures maximum. Golden Age.

600:

Elements. Golden Age. Players must have one character to represent each of Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. Once that build is complete, you may fill it with whatever you wish to bring it up to 600 points.


You may include Special Objects and preferred map(s) as part of your PM to me.


PM me your teams but next Friday (10/8/10) at Noon Pacific for entry! Otherwise first alternate will be allowed to take your place!

strategy is that all FF share sue storms 19 def ( 20 on object in stealth where she will be. and close to invisible girl ). Plus they can all heal when 1 dies. Alicia masters pog is a ff team member. She will tie up pieces with her hi 20 shared def and heal others when she dies.this should either bog down the other team or give me xtra health, especially since there's 4of her. Invisible girl she has 18 defend ability( 20 shared def due to sue storm )parked on 1 of my objects will be surrounded by these clix:up front destiny For prob control making it hard to hit 20 defense, laura brown 10 range to kep it hard to hit my cluster of clix, avalanche for barrier and running shot and pulse wave to keep people away. blizz and avalanche both have 8 range barrier the entire dial. With the 2 of them i can keep up barrier whenever/wherever I need to.Next row wiccan with enhancement for ranged dmg bonuses and probability control. he also can carry up to 3 people if needed to. He might have to carry a healer, probabilty controlller, barrier, whatever. Invisible girl in stealth sitting on 1 of my objects with 20 shared def. Next row is blizzard for barrier, Jane foster for healing. All clix in cluster have atleast a 20 defense protected by barrier. If invisible girl is hit no problem i put protected on her and prob control.
Keep sue storm in stealt and sitting on 1 of my objects behind Jane foster. I can move her with jane foster if needs be to heal or keep my 20 def safe. I have johnny storm with running shot 10 range and esd for a 22 def from range. He has the ability that any FF member next to him takes no tokens from moving and doesn't count towards round total moves or actions. His other sp is energy explosion that keeps his dmg value. I put ambidextrous on him to give him 2 target with 10 range. He carrys Thing who also has atleast a 20 def and also with his sp can remove action tokens on good dice rolls. I have prob control maybe it will work. Both Johnny and Thing have protected also. Have them focus on the big gun/guns on other team. While Alicia Masters pogs hold up other clix and barrier block ranged opponents.

Pretty straight forward. Turn one Batwoman takes an action to get Outwit or Perplex from Oracle. Batman uses OotS to jump onto Mjolnir and try to lift it. After that, I hop around Outwitting and attacking, but generally making my opponent come to me. The Question acts as a support piece and secondary attacker.

I'll pick whichever half of Shazadam's dial is best suited to my needs, using the Meteorite and Dumpster to hit that much harder. I've got plenty of PC. Red Tornado will TK the Swamp Thing out. Swamp Thing will Phase over to tie up the biggest threat. Ghost Rider will use either Running Shot/PsyBlast or Move & attack as needed to hit hard.

question about feats
I know it says we can use 1 feat in the 200 point build, what about other builds? In golden age can we use feats as prt of our build total? If so under what rules, 30% of build total? Sent ya my 1st team but waiting for reply on this before I build my other teams thanks.

I imagine that all the Modern Age have 0 feats, and the 500 can have 50 points of feats. The 600 is the one I would like clarification for because it says "you may fill it with whatever you wish to bring it up to 600 points." Does this mean no feat cap so long as I have the 4 elements? Probably not, but I would still like the clarification.

I agree. I've been having an equally difficult time with the Earth Element.

All modern age has no feats and all golden age still follows the 10% rule (the 200 can have 2 oracle contacts for instance for 20 points).

Air can be anyone from Storm to Air Walker, just has to have something to do with air. Raven is a little abstract but if the other 3 elements are clearer cut I will let it slide.

as far as strategy I'm pretty much letting the voters decide how they wanna play my teams. Unless there is some intricate stuff involved. Then I'll say how I intended them to be played and let them vote on how well they think it would work. As for map I don't really care. I just really hope nobody plat cosmic spidey and tank map ( that's just cheese ). As far as objects not sure how much I'll use special objects.

The great thing about Vapor is that figure qualifies as air and arguably water to lol.

Invisible Woman would be a slightly tougher sell for me but if the other 3 elements were strong I might let it slide.

I also considered Metamorpho for virtually any of them lol outside of water.

Likewise. Yeah I didn't feel like we should include more than we have to... and in terms of strategy, I think that's best left ambiguous. I didn't want to include Special Objects either really, but I felt compelled to do so because I felt like I might be at a disadvantage if I didn't and others did.

Map choice, I was totally out of luck for that. Heroclix kind of died in my area so I don't get the new maps anymore so I didn't even mess with that. : /
