A question on Quake, Carnage and the new PG
The power Quake now reads
Quake
Give this character a close combat action; until the attack
has been resolved, this character’s damage value is locked at
2 if it is greater than 2. Make a close combat attack that
targets all opposing characters this character can attack with a
close combat attack. Each character that takes damage from this
attack is knocked back.

If i understand correctly Quake still does 2 damage (3 damage if a critical hit is rolled) to each character hit, unlike ranger combat actions where you must divide the attacking characters Damage Value
any way you choose among the successfully hit targets. (And a successfully hit target can be dealt 0 damage or any non-fractional amount of damage, provided that all damage dealt is divided among the successfully hit targets. )

But does the Quaking character do ONE close combat attack, or ONE close combat attack ON EACH opposing character the attacker can legally attack, with one singel roll of the die?
The reason I ask is because Carnage has three clicks of Quake and Steal Energy. Maybe I have been playing Steal Energy wrong, but i assumed you could just heal one click per attack you made. Now would he be able to heal 4 clicks on a successful quake on 4 or more opposing characters if he was on his 5th click. (As he after the attack would heal 1+1+1+1) My gut feeling says "Hell NO"... but the wording on quake can be read; "make a close combat attack that targets all X with a close combat attack" making it a multiplier. I just hope the new wording is a clunky way to explain that quake cannot let you target anything you cannot target with an ordinary close combat attack.

Steal Energy
(Non-Optional) Each time an opposing character takes damage from a close combat attack made by this character, heal this character of 1 damage.

Quake results in a close combat attack... so how many characters took damage from that one close combat attack?

However many were damage = how many clicks Steal Energy heals.
Read the rules. They do a body good!

"How does [insert special power] work with the new 2013 rules?"

Most everything special power-wise, we're looking into. The PAC changes may change the way some special powers function; we're checking on them before the June release. In the meantime, ask your judge.

Oh damn, that is nasty. Doesn't come up to often as both are attack powers, but still. I think Carnage will see a bit of constructed play after all.

Thank you for the quick reply.
