One team throws a barrier, second teams turn takes out one block of the barrier and at the end of their turn want to throw a barrier themselves, is this possible going by the diagram below?:
X=empty
B1=barrier from first team
B2=barrier from second team
BB=broken barrier [hindering terrain]
X X B1
X X B1
B1 B1 X
X X X
X X X
original set up is above
X X B1
X B2 B1
B1 BB B2
X X B2
X X B2
Second barrier crosses across hindering terrain's rubble pile [hindering terrain], is this legal?

There's nothing I can see in the PAC or the FAQ that expressly forbids it. All of the barrier markers are adjacent. The rules say that you cannot move or attack through the diagonal corners, but a barrier (while a move action) is not a move, nor is it an attack.
It *should* be illegal, but it does not appear to be so.

I was looking at it differently, my mistake. Is this a legal placement for two Barriers?

The Barriers cross in this picture, and there are no destroyed barriers. There doesn't seem to be anything that expressly forbids it, but it doesn't feel right.

Checking the rules and FAQ, there's nothing saying that those squares are no longer adjacent. Hence my dilemma.
From the FAQ:
"Squares on different elevations are not adjacent to each other.
Characters on different elevations are not adjacent to each other."
(and that's all the FAQ has to say about adjacency)
From the rules:
"Characters on opposite sides of blocking terrain or on different elevations (see Terrain) are not considered adjacent"
That says "characters". It doesn't say that the squares are not adjacent.
As I said, it should be illegal, but there's nothing specific in the rules that says it is not. IMHO, it should be addressed in a future FAQ.
