The usual and most popular is the Batman Ally TA.

But if you want to go with something more fun I would build around the Suicide Squad TA with bunch of cheap pogs aka bystanders.

green lantern is fun, and for low cost games, is pretty darn hard, but in "ok builds" like 600 points, is very fun, also, as a part of a team, they are really strategic (ny of them) and serves as a comic accurate enemy for your sinestro corps.
also, secret six is reall fun too

Suicide Squad are not only fun, but are all pretty easy and cheap to get a hold of, unlike the Sinestro Corps - either yellow version of Sinestro is expensive, and there's also Supes Prime who isn't cheap or easy to get either.
Plus you have LOTS of accurate team build possibilities... there's a thread on here that goes over most, if not all, of the lineups for the SS. Plus, you can build Secret Six teams too, since those guys have the TA as well.

Is there a LoA team ability? Or are you referring to the ATA?

Here are some questions I'd like to know the answer to, in order to best answer you:

1) Do you play only Modern Age? Mixed Modern and Golden Age?

2) What force build point values do you play?

3) Do you have a particular play style?

While I await your answer, I will provide some of my own thoughts on some of the force ideas mentioned:

Sinestro Corps: I've played these guys quite a bit (pre-DC75).

Plusses: I play against many players that prefer to hide-and-snipe, so this team suits my play style (being able to TK Arkillo in for some fear-mongering). It's also mostly available for Modern Age play. They also have sufficiently different dials and costs for play.

Caveats: It's not possible to get much variety in force builds below 400 points...and even then you will often end up with unspent points (so plan on feats). I've found that I typically pick one of the "big money" pieces to base a team around (CR Sinestro, SC Batman, LE Grodd) and go from there...(comic status of the characters doesn't bother me, as its *somebody* with a magic ring)...and since it isn't easy to get such pieces, your mileage may vary from mine.

Suicide Squad: I've played a LOT of Suicide Squad forces. All things being equal, I'd happily play any of my Suicide Squad teams against another comic-inspired team any time.

Plusses: The core figures are pretty easy to collect, with the possible exception being Oracle. Even if you branch into the Secret Six, most of those figures should be easy to collect despite some of them being rare/SR (Bane, Mad Hatter are both SRs).

Caveats: Both the Secret Six and Suicide Squad teams (as keyworded in clix) have mobility issues (few fliers, not much move+attack). The TAXIs they have are great (Nightshade, Count Vertigo) but that's about it (Sorry Parademon!) It's been my experience that the Squad teams really need Cardboard to fill strategic gaps (certain feats) and have BSTs for Mastermind/healing.

I have a few comments about Batman Family teams:

Aside from myself, I think I've ever seen one other player make anything that looked like a Batman Family team. Usually players go with "Gotham City" to get fliers and more Perplex/Outwit...or just team up a single Batman TA figure with other forces (JLA, Titans, Mystics etc.)

I happen to think the Batman Family figures themselves are fun, but they are somewhat strategically limited by themselves...which can be overcome by cardboard, but YMMV.

May I recommend the following force to try, that should be easy to collect? H.A.M.M.E.R.

There are really only six different things to collect: Agents, Elite Ops, Norman Osborne, Iron Patriot, SR Green Goblin, and a new version of the Thunderbolts ATA. You don't really need the SR Goblin, but you might as well have it if you are using Norman.

The SHIELD TA is a fun one to use, and with enough of the grunts (and a theme team) you should be able to win map choices so you can really exercise your strategic muscles (You will need to practice positioning, etc. with this force)

Ooh, Injustice League is the best. *Cough*sarcasm*cough*

JSA is terrific. They’ve got a lot of guys with good to great DVs, which can really be frustrating to your opponent. And they’ve got an amazing assortment of figures to choose from to fill pretty much all roles you could want.

My personal favorite is the Teen Titans. If you keep a low-point regen figure [Raven?] somewhere on the map, you can abuse the healing power.

Plus.. the team has figures with other TAs as well, like Nightwing with outsiders. Happy Building!

Mystics. Making your opponent take unavoidable damage when they cause damage to you is pretty keen.

If he plays Bat Ally TA, make a Supes Ally team! Have fun with that!!!

Granted most figs are too expensive but get a Talia or two and some cheaper Supermen with range and some good Wildcards and go to town!!
