Aerial Baffler: Any character with the {wing} or {wing-transporter} speed mode that is 3 or fewer squares from this object gains Earthbound. Any character is carries takes no damage and is placed in the nearest square it can occupy.
During a match last night, a player pushed Ms. Marvel to pickup the Aerial Baffler. The question was, that since the Baffler is not continual, does she still take pushing damage, or does the fact that she pick it up, nullify its effects and she regains the symbol immediately?
The ruling renedered was that since the symbol was not there when committing the move action, the pushing damage would be given. There was much debate and comparisons to Outwitted Willpower that returns, etc. Ultimately a deciding dice roll was made and the damage taken, but I need to followup now.

Thoughts?
Push damage is checked at the end of the action. At that point the Baffler was not on the board and therefore not in effect. Ms. Marvel should not have taken damage due to her . It is as you say, the same as having Willpower Outwitted and then losing Outwit.
I don't understand how something that negates the Flight ability would have anything to do with affecting Indomitable and pushing damage? (i.e. Why was it even in question?)

Actually it gives figures the Earthbound power. Earthbound states that figs get the abilities instead of whatever they have printed.

Ooooooh. I hadn't realized they had changed the wording on earthbound. I never bothered to look after it first came out as I thought of it as a non- issue.
