You've bought your boosters. Scanned the Marquee Primers. Did the math. But is your team truly ready to take on crazed despots and saving the world?
Only one way to know for sure - have them do some training. Yes, fans, behold the Training Facility. 24x36 inches of the most sophisticated state of the art technology to hone your team's skills to guarantee the next time the world is in jeopardy the world can count on you!
The first thing you will notice is the lay out with obstacles and devices to challenge even the most skilled of players. You like your terrain - we got it! Hindering and Blocking. Walls and Elevated. Water and Clear. "Super-Elevated" and "Pits". All surrounding the King of the Hill-esque center stage. An observation room overlooks the entire training area so the teacher can provide direct feedback. Training Facility by neopavlik, on Flickr
The biggest challenge, you'll find, is the lack of starting areas. Where a character is placed is determined by a dice roll because the Training Facility isn't about safe starts, turtling and being careful - no my friends, its about pushing the envelope of on the fly tactics. No two games will ever be the same even if you have the exact same teams playing every week. Check it out:
"After placing objects but before placing characters, roll a 2d6 for each character starting with the character with the highest point cost. Find the corresponding orange number on the map and place that character in any square that character could normally occupy within 3 squares of that orange number. When the first player has placed all of his or her characters the player to the first player’s left then places all of his or her characters in the same manner until all characters have been placed."
Just like it says, after objects are placed (maybe that Shield Disruptor wasn't such a good idea...) Player one starts rolling and placing the characters across the map. Player 2 has big decisions afterward as match-ups are determined.
First Round Immunity will still get you pansies safely through the first 3 minutes but after that you maggots better be ready to bash some plastic! Player 1 - do you quickly pass or do you sack up and position yourself for the Round 2 slaughter? Player 2 are you going to humbly submit or are you going to lock down your opponent's pieces with mismatches and set up the brutal counter attack?
Whether you are training your team or yourself the Training Facility is a must have map for your squad!
Intro and Grid by Tyroclix. This is a great format that he has run at his Orlando Tournaments and has been indoctrinated nicely into a map element.
I love the idea of starting randomly, we did that a couple times and it was a wonderful mess.
I'm digging the variety on this map a ton, and visually its aces. Your maps are looking better and better bud.

The neatest thing about the random starting areas is that it can breath new life into some of the more mundane maps ( like Great Arena or old 4 corners) plus more often than not it utilizes some of the more under utilized parts of a map ( like the back cells and hallways of the prison ).
Thanks for the comment on the visuals, I feel like that's the area I've progressed the most with this being my 9th map ( more pressure to make # 10 even better ). Sometimes you get too close to a work and get bored with seeing a certain look but you loved it the first few iterations then wonder if its good or not.
So I've spent about a week playtesting on this and got the visuals a bit more dramatic.
Gotta say this is quite possibly the best 2x3 EVER and certainly the most addicting.
I've played about 16 games on it and none of them have been the same.
Nightcrawler ? No problem (can actually hit the rest of his team)
Professor Cheese ? No problem (no starting area).
Still need to give Cosmic Spidey a run through on here but I don't think he'll be a problem either.
Ever worry about playing a slow player ? This is the map for you.
Ever play huge point value games that go too slow ? This is the map for you.
Ever wish you could corner one of your opponent's favorite figures and spin through his entire dial on a turn of doom? This is the map for you.
2nd player gets to choose where he places figures after player 1 so you can go nose to nose or keep some distance. Iron Man was in Jonnz's face for all of 1 attackable turn.
