I recently acquired the veteran mystique...and I think she kicks you know what. There aren't a whole lot of characters in marvel with perplex, are there? If so, I think she's the best of the bunch. Am I wrong?

Except that everyone in Xplosion seems to have it. And that's not much of an exaggeration, actually...

She is another low cost, free move, and effective piece that I can't wait to have.

Watch out for Vet. Whirlwind! Mystique is going to perplex his base damage to 4. Flurry = Max of 8 possible damage! And, Destiny will give him 3 chances to score at least one hit.

I predict a lot of pain.:D

I think Mystique will see a lot of use. In addition to being a relatively low cost perplexer, she moves for free, she also has decent stats, a ranged attack, and most importantly, stealth. She's an excellent support piece, but she's also more than capable of dealing damage.

well she's a nice support fig with stealth and perplex, cheap?
well,no.
she's the leader of Freedom Force so she's going to see some action she's an effective fighter though I would rather use the Exp. version.

Mystique isn't bad, BUT since we get a cheap Con Artist with perplex she is rather expensive unless you play with certain teams !

Am I the only one who noticed that Mystique DOESN'T have Shapeshift?!?

I may not be the biggest X-Men fan ever, but I seem to remember this being her PRIMARY Power.

She could've received either shapeshift or perplex, I'm glad she got perplex.

She may not be the cheapest perplexer at 34 points (rookie), but imo, she's certainly the best for the point cost since she comes without a drawback (con artist's don't get perplex until the 2nd click) and good numbers.

And, when crossing Marvel and DC universes, she's exponentially better than Harley Quinn.

She's probably one of the more underrated pieces in Xplosion and will see tournament play in Marvel teams of all sizes.

I guess my way of thinking has less to do with making her a useful figue in the game than making the fig an acurate representation of the Comic Book Character. I am not opposed to her having Perplex, but at least one version could have had Shapeshift.

Yeah, Shapeshift is kind of a "signature" power for Mystique, but that doesn't change the fact that it is an incredibly sucky power. I hope that this is an indication that it is going away altogether, as it's pretty much useless. Stealth is a better representation anyway, I think.

Well she'll make a great support perplexer no doubt and she will see quite a bit of play to fill that role.

As for the question whether she is the best Marvel perplexer or not well that is very open to debate. For instance, Dr. Doom (V) and Dr. Octupus (V) are both great candidates for this title. It all depends on what you are looking for in your perplexers I guess which in the end will influence this decision.

Perplex spam? Con Artists are you choice.
Shock Troop with Perplex? Doc Ock is your man.
Perplexing Powerhouse? None match Doom.
Powerful first strike with Perplex? That'll be Doc Samson.

Mystique fits the role of pesky second string support sorta like Scarlet Witch, Black Cat, and Black Panther currently fill. You know, that low point character with 1 awesome power and helps in the team ability department as well. She's the best in the biz when it comes to this niche, that's for sure.
