Voting for Hannibal Smith, as I Really think Mal has been blown up past his normal abilities here, and I feel should have lost to most all of his opponents in this TOC (Hannibal Smith definately being one of them).

I agree. For me, Mal barely won Round 1 and I think he should have lost rounds 2 and 3 for sure.

He's good, but he's not as good as he's being made out to be. He'd loose to Smith.

Hannibal can think his way around anybody on Earth, and you put him in a barn and he can build a tank to bust out of it... but Mal has spaceships.

I think Hannibal is smarter, although Mal, while seeming foolhardy from time to time, usually also has a plan (and a backup plan or three for good measure).
I also think that Mal is tougher than Hannibal.
And I feel the terrain favours the Cap'n, who should feel right at home in a swamp. Half the 'Verse looks like a swamp anyway.

I vote Mal.

These seem like good reasons for me to vote for Mal as well.

Both guys have a lot in common here. Both are very suspicious of people; belligerent towards authority figures/enemies; both guys are resilient when it comes to taking a beating; and both are just devious enough that they have a tendency to come up with crazy plans that shouldn't work but luckily do.

This is going to be a close one.

But I'm voting Mal, who has the slight edge of being quicker.

Plus, Casey vs. Mal in the finals would be pretty sweet.

Id prefer Hannibal vs. Casey in the Finals personally, as to me Mal (a character I love from a show I love) should have lost to every combatant he faced this TOC, IMHO.

Maybe I'd see your point if you gave some reaons.
What do you think Hannibal brings to the table that makes him take down Mal as easily as you seem to imply?

Personally I'm going to vote Malcolm Reynolds.

Oh I dont think any of Mal's matches would have been easy, but his opponents simply put (Hannibal included) are either higher skilled, better equipped and/or have more experience in doing what they do than Mal does. Hannibal is a veteran of 2 wars, Colonel in the US Army, master strategist and special forces soldier, and leader of one of the best trained military/mercenary units in the world. Mal is a Captain in his worlds army and of a smuggling ship, with some good (and lucky) high end showings. Comparing the resumes between these two here, and basically with Mal and all of his opponents this TOC, leaves him sadly lacking in the end, IMO. But he keeps on winning here, so I guess Im in the minority of thinking as I do, and that I must have missed the Firefly shows where it was declared that Mal was his worlds Super Solider.

In a different terrain I might back Mal, but here I've got to back the guy with proven wilderness experience.
