In a weird turn of events, I won by the other dude forfeiting with about 10 minutes left in the game. Daredevil had KOed She-Hulk with some help (after I lost Jimmy Woo and Elektra), and Cap (4th click) and Sabretooth (3rd click) were based with Dr. Strange and Moonstone, respectively.

In short, I was on the ropes. I'm guessing the guy had to quit for one reason or the other.

I have to admit that the other player was exceptionally cautious, and he apparently had some difficulties with Hypersonic Speed's attack portion. However, overall, the game went well for me; Sabretooth was a Regeneration battery to keep Kingpin from taking damage, and Mr. Fisk thus KOed Flash when he got too close. The combined efforts of Cap and Daredevil took out Hal, with DD getting final hit up close.

vs. Ragnarok Surtur, Bi-Beast, Skullbuster, and a Thug! We were on Stark Labs yet again. Daredevil fell to repeated face smashing from Surtur (oww), but Cap and Sabretooth laid everyone but Surtur on slabs before the player aborted the game. That sounds like a concession to me, so, while I'm not keen on it, that's win #27 in my book.

A friend at the local shop challenged me to a long overdue game of Marvel Knights vs. Heroes for Hire. We went at it for 400 points on CuriousLurker's Back Alley map.

We started out by maneuvering for positions, with the other player having to take a very long way around to get in place. Daredevil got a first shot KO on Misty Knight, but She-Hulk and Power Man/Iron Fist proceeded to take turns one-shotting Marvel Knights with a Generator, starting with Hornhead. It ended up with a top dial Punisher facing down the duo, She-Hulk, and Shang-Chi atop a building. . . until they cracked his 19 defense up close.

Game 59 was on HCO just now. The game crashed due to a bug with Mastermind on Lex Luthor, but here's how it went down.

vs. the Fast Forces Bizarro, Lex Luthor, and Kryptonian Renegade.

The other player smoked Sabretooth, Captain America, and Kingpin in short order, leaving Bizarro on third click with Running Shot, Super Strength, Super Senses, and Probability Control. The Renegade had been smoked by Daredevil. Lex was on second click and had just been assigned 3 damage to take. The player chose not to Mastermind the damage, and the game crashed.

This one's tough to judge. The other player was ahead on points at the end of the game, but a 3-point hit to Lex would've dropped him to last click (with Charge and 10 attack). Bizarro would've had to have used his turns getting into position, since he wouldn't have been able to Running Shot Daredevil. The problem would've been trying to hit that 18 Super Senses through Probability Control without pushing or critically missing.

DD could've possibly pulled it off in the 10 minutes remaining, or he could've at least nailed Lex. But, calling it as it was at the end of the game, this game state was a loss with 1 KO.

vs. the 200 point Gladiator that gets Power Cosmic and +1 to all stats if no one else has been KOed. We were on Stark Labs.

My CD player was bugging out on me, so I wasn't all the way in the game for the first few moves. By that time, Gladiator was in position and swinging on Daredevil. I missed a crucial Super Senses roll, and Hornhead was down to last click in one hit. Black Panther jumped in to pick up the slack and offer tie up, but his one Blades attack, which actually hit, rolled a 1 against Invulnerability. He was then promptly squished with a knockback attack. To top it all off, Cap failed TWO back to back rolls to break for Running Shot. Both Cap and DD bit the dust promptly thereafter on the following turn.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to tick off the Shi'ar.

Game 61. Knife, meet Gun Fight!

My usual HCO 300 point Martial Artists (Daredevil, Kingpin, Captain America, and Sabretooth) went up against Quasar and Nova, from the Galactic Guardians Annihilators Fast Forces. I got whacked and whacked FAST in the Lab. Multiple Perplexes, Hypersonic, and great stats all around did me in. At least this loss was to a friend from the local comic shop!

The Thug ran interference, and then Malekith was finished off after a chase through the lab.

Last night, I played against Megatreky in 400 points. As he's mentioned, the game froze up on us with about 15 minutes to go, falling prey to a bug with Mastermind (or at least Kingpin's version of it) that crashes the game when a player is given the option to Mastermind damage but chooses not to do so.

Remind me to bug report that.

against Nick Fury, Captain America, and Hawkeye from the retail movie figures and the 150 point Hulk in blue pants that gets healed when he pushes.

We were on Stark Labs. I hunkered down in one of the smaller rooms, and he sent the Hulk in to crash my party, with Nick Fury and Hawkeye hanging back for cover fire. Hulk, though, was quickly beat around and KOed thanks to a mix of Kingpin's Outwit helping Sabretooth, Cap, and Daredevil.

Unique Cap (1941 version) ran interference on Hawkeye and Nick, getting smoked in the process. Afterward, Smoky Feet Cap moved into position to target Nick and Hawkeye, missing them after a zany Prob fest (4 rolls!). Sabretooth was blown away, too, and then Hawkeye fired on Kingpin, who was standing next to Daredevil.

And that's when Mastermind crashed the game.

I was ahead 150 to 104 at the end, so I guess I'll put this down as a win in my book, but Megatreky, I do want a rematch some time. Cool?
