Whenever a character makes a successful close combat attack, roll a six-sided die before damage is dealt. On a result of 5 or 6, the attack deals 1 additional damage. On a result of 1 or 2, after the attack resolves the attacking character is dealt 1 unavoidable damage.

(Just as a heads-up, based on the roller results I'm receiving, I had PC on case-by-case and would not have likely used them for the first swing on Chief. I would have used it on Ground Zero, however.)

Also, CP wouldn't go away as he still has Mastermind (not sure if elevation affects adjacency for Mastermind - if not, damage would be transferred to Riddler.)

Also, being map is up - X-7 is next to Riddler, not Alexei. I know Nightcrawler ignores characters for movement but can he attack from an occupied square? (Not that you did, I'm just wondering.)

If you're attacking character Red 3 - Riddler - that changes things.

These two are tied together:
1) A character who is on elevated terrain is not adjacent to characters on non-elevated terrain (otherwise you could make close combat attacks against elevated characters all the time).
2) When Chief takes those 2 damage, his Mastermind is attached to his DV power. The 3 damage he takes knocks him off of that DV power, so he loses Mastermind. However, I have just noticed that his Leadership is attached to his attack, not his defence power, so he does keep the two CP tokens he had.

Sorry, I meant to say Leadership. You're right that he lost Mastermind.

Actually, sorry to say but he doesn't. Riddler has 16 Defense and I think you rolled a 15 (9 Atk + a roll of 4 + 2, right?)
