So the trend so far looks like there are two MARVEL sets back to back and then a DC set. This is lame for the players who like DC more than MARVEL. I don't think it has to do with the reboot because it started before the reboot and will continue months after the reboot.
You think NECA will keep the DC players interested with Fast Forces or Gravity Feed sets based on DC licenses?
In short, it has never been that way until recently.
edit: Okay, so I took my own advice and noticed that there were more Marvel sets before Avengers, but once character cards came into the picture, it was back-to-back Marvel/DC/Marvel/DC for years.
Marvel has much more diversity. You can only have so many Batman, Superman, and Hal Jordan figures.
Plus, Marvel is the best.
Wizkids hasn't really given into the diversity that DC has. If they can't keep it 50/50 Marvel/DC I'd really like to see Wizkids focus on limitted remakes in DC, having an equal ratio between heroes and villains, and atleast try to accommodate Golden, Silver, Bronze and Modern fans equally.
There are actually supposed to be 3 Marvel sets coming out before the next DC set as it stands now. Hulk, Galactic Guardians, and Mighty Avengers. These all tie in to the Infinity Gauntlet event.
There is a Superman Fast Forces pack coming out in December however and I'd imagine we'll probably see another DC Fast Forces pack come out before the next DC set as well.

Well, Marvel is at least twice as good as DC, so I think it's an appropos ratio.
Not removing this until we get ROCKABILLY MODOK! ROCKABILLY MODOK! ROCKABILLY MODOK!

True, Marvel has lots of Spider-men and Wolverines we still need. But DC clowned themselves by rebooting so I guess you could say Marvel is slightly less worse than DC after Flashpoint and the reboot. Wait didn't Marvel reboot Spider-man like a year ago to be single and emo like Supes is now? Ok it's a tie for last place then.
T was true for a while in the early days. Between Hypertime and the release of Cosmic Justice, Marvel got Clobberin’ Time and Xplosion, and then again between Unleashed and Legacy, Marvel saw the Ultimates and Mutant Mayhem sets. I don’t think it’s an intentional pattern, and as thanoson mentioned, there are a lot of smaller releases these days that skew the rotation a little; it’s not just the big sets anymore. I like Marvel and DC both, maybe DC a little more, but I’m not panicking.
My understanding is that DC is a lot more tight-fisted with licensing and that this has always affected the number of DC sets Wizkids could make in a given time frame.
Marvel, on the other hand, doesn't really care.
I know at one point that Marvel sets tended to outsell DC, I don't know if that's the case anymore but that might explain why as well. And as far as the character selection, both companies have a lot of say in who they want to promote - therefore we got an Iron Man/War Machine duo in Web of Spider-Man to promote "Iron Man 2", we got a lot of Lanterns to promote the various Days and Nights, we're getting Thor for FCBD to promote the Avengers movie, and so on.
I'm sure Wizkids would love to delve more deeply into the character libraries for both companies (and they get to a bit), but there are certain characters each company will always want to promote and certain characters that guarantee sales. For DC, it's Batman, Hal Jordan (ugh), etc.; for Marvel it's Iron Man/Wolverine/etc.
Also, the whole "DC IS BETTER THAN MARVEL" or "MARVEL IS BETTER THAN DC" thing is played out. Both companies have a lot of good and a lot of dreck.
