Max results on searches
In searching for a thread, the search function displays only 100 results.

There are way more than 100 RPSC threads and I'm having trouble finding the older RPSC threads because searching the play by post forum for threads with "RPSC" in the title only gets me the most recent threads.

Is there any way to remove this limit?

I'd love to look farther back too but it's probably the only safe guard from major thread necromancy.

You kidding??? There is even a rule against it.
And yesterday, in the comicbook discussion area, someone resurrected a thread about the top ten least liked Marvel characters. Someone should report it.

And here I thought this thread would be about Max Fortune Lad's results on searches.

Like finding a thread that reviews comics and the last post was so old, no one had guessed yet that Jean Loring was the killer. Then posting on that thread. That revives the thread.
And then disgruntled people who thought someone other then Jean was the killer report that the thread was revived and the reviver may get a PM warning or warning points

The big reason to avoid it is because it generally causes confusion.

Essentially someone back a year ago asks a question it got answered, but the rules evolved or something and that answer isn't right, then people jump all over other people for giving the "wrong" answer, or whatever.

Generally most people only respond to the first hand full of discussion in a thread and then ignore what's said on other pages.
Which sometimes thread necromancy shows up because someone thinks their question has something to do with a discussion that has been had previously (which is usually true). Unfortunately most people will go about responding to the OP and not the person whom brought the thread back to life.

SO Generally it's better to not bring a thread back from the dead, and if you've got a legitimate question or something just start a new thread and ask.

That's fine and all when it comes to rules questions but I'm concerned with the RPSC, a story based heroclix campaign.

It's an ongoing story that's been going for years and I can't find all the chapters of the story because I can't search for them. They're mixed into over a hundred pages of other threads in the play by post forum.

Might I also add that, if you do start a thread, close it when you're done with it and that way, it can not be resurrected by anyone else.

Yeah that's kind of a different story for thread necro and such and is ok.

I think it's the forum software that limits the number of returned searches.
You can modify the search though and probably find it if you look for threads started by a specific poster in a specific forum (As opposed to the individual posts).

That might help you out.

I am searching by thread, by a specific poster and in a specific forum.

There are still more than 100 results and thus, the earlier results still get cut off.

The RPSC started in 2004. There have been a lot of games/stories in that time. There are at least 40 stories that are being cut off from the results.

Anything? It'd be really helpful if I could get this resolved.

I sent a message to typhon to see if there could be a way to additionally filter the searches. We'll see
