I have taken the HeroClix Player's Guide and edited / updated it. I hope many of you enjoy this version of the Player's Guide. It took me about a month to edit it.
This is a fan-based creation, and I have no affiliation with WizKids. I took their Player's Guide and edited, and what I believe, improved upon it.
Many of you I'm sure remember SUPERGene. He was my inspiration while I was editing the Player's Guide. I thank him for the inspiration. Does he even play anymore?
I'm happy with the final version and I hope many of you will be too.
All of the wordings, clarifications, and errata remain intact. This version of the Player's Guide is just as accurate as the official Player's Guide - without all of the spelling errors - and it's much more aesthetically pleasing.
Here are are the new features, edits, and changes that I made:
1) Digital Device Compatibility - The coolest feature to this version of the Player's Guide is the Table of Contents. Open this document on any digital device that supports .pdf files and click on any section in the Table of Contents to go directly to that section. Example: Need to see the current wording of the Stealth power? Click on "Section 12: Powers" in the Table of Contents, and you will be whisked directly to that section. No scrolling through dozens of pages anymore.
2) Page Numbers - This makes it easier for you to find what you are looking for. Especially if you print the document out. I have asked WizKids for page numbers in the Player's Guide now for two years to no avail. Page numbers are finally here.
3) Editing / Corrections - I have corrected over 100 spelling, punctuation, grammatical, and spacing errors throughout the document. A little proof-reading goes a long way. I'm sure I may have missed a few though.
4) Graphics - The main reason for using graphics in this document was for spacing issues, so entries didn't cross over to another page or column, and so there wasn't just open spaces between one entry to another. I also added a background watermark for aesthetic purposes.
I have also improved the quality of the ability symbols and team abilities symbols. They are not so blurry.
5) Copy and Paste Friendly - I have corrected all of the spacing issues that plagued the original Player's Guide. Entries no longer cross over to the next column or page. It's pretty irritating when trying to read an entry, and you have to turn the page to read the last few words in the sentence. Ease of use, and quick reference should be as simple as possible. This also makes it easy to copy and paste sections if you have to do it.
6) Streamlined - I have removed all of the Current Word sections with the exception of the Powers, Abilities, and Team Abilities sections. The current wording for Powers, Abilities, and Team Abilities are very important to keep in there. Since the PAC changes often, or because of licensing issues, each PAC contains different information. So these have been left in there. In all honesty, the other sections are not needed and redundant. There is no reason to list every single character power in the game. Need to now the current wording of a BFC or Feat? That is already found in the Errata & Clarifications section.
There is no reason for the Player's Guide to be 188 pages long. And with each set, they'll add all the powers for the new characters. Soon the Player's Guide will be over 300 pages long. No reason for that.
7) Tables - I have given the Classic Tables and the Team Ability by Universe Tables a facelift.
Well, with that said, I hope many of you enjoy this fan-based version of the Player's Guide. It will be the version I'll be using, and will be much easier to use at Tourneys than thumbing through 188 pages without page numbers.
Missing the word "Immediately" on Superman Enemy. This was, IMO, the most important change, because it did away with lots of confusion over the activation.
Honestly that was the first thing I checked, and haven't really delved into the document, yet, but I can say that this is an extraordinary effort, and the time put into the revisions is shown in the finished product. Rep to you, sir, for caring enough to do something.
I have to say that I find it quite amusing that this non-WizKids version has the WizKids logo on every page.
This version is not very helpful for me, as I use the PG mostly for the current wording of powers, but I see how this can be helpful for someone.
Ani if you've corrected a lot of errors, I hope you send WizKids a list of those errors so that they can fix them.
And the most important thing for anyone to remember is that since this is not the official PG, if you try to prove any rule or ruling with this, your opponent can dismiss you completely. So this will work as a reminder to yourself, but it will not work as a proof for errata or rulings. It is the simple fact between official and non-official.
Thank you vga. Honestly you edit is so much easier to read/understand. Also it less pages then the offical. No reason the offical has to be over 80 pages in pdf. Wizkids needs to fix that flaw? Again vga thank you
This is so much better, thank you for your efforts!
Thank you for the compliment.

Oops, if "immediately" is missed, I believe WizKids must have missed it too, as I copied and pasted. I'll look into it and get it fixed right away.
Thank you for the compliments as well.

I was marking the corrections in red pen in my hard copy of the Player's Guide, but after awhile I just stopped keeping track of them all. I pointed some out to WizKids two years ago, and they just scoffed at me, so I have pretty much given up on them. It boiled down to if you want it done right, might as well do it myself.
True on it's unofficial status. It won't fly at GenCon. But the wordings are correct, so I can see lots of local judges allowing it and using it. Just like a print and play card with a different picture or a modded figure. And for personal reference, it's handy.

I'm going to give this a closer read after work, but having scanned it briefly, thank you for the effort you put into this. You've addressed the biggest issue, making the guide user friendly.
Not removing this line from my signature until we get Killer Moth (12/17/12).
Missing IC Remakes: Whirlwind, Constrictor, Controller, Boomerang, Blizzard, Puppet Master
Huge rep to you sir! The guide is a major improvement and love labor for us realmsers.
You catch alot of flack on this site for your wacky antics, but your respect HP will no doubt triple after this project.
All I ask is that you don't let these positive vibes get to you, so please continue being the most well-balanced VGA you can be, both incurring mad props and anger in the same 24 hour span.
You are a true chaotic neutral. Thanks.

This is a poem of love the likes I've never read. Brought a tear to my eye.
I found a couple of of my images Section 14: Team Abilities were spaced a bit off. I went in and fixed that and re-uploaded the document.
Thank you to everyone for the kind words. I'm just glad to be of some use once in awhile. I may say some negative things about WizKids once here and there, but as for the game of HeroClix, I've been playing now for 9 years, and I love the game.
If anyone finds any errors in it, feel free to point them out. I can get them corrected right away and get the document re-uploaded. Error-free and ease of use is what I'm shooting for.

I agree with VP, here. I also use the PG almost exclusively for the Current Wordings section, although I do have to poke into other sections from time to time. But even then, the existing PG is not hard to use at all, it is just the right size, and I find it to be organized perfectly for my needs. So this one is not very useful for me, but I'm sure the effort is appreciated.
"All right, you egg-suckin' piece of gutter trash!
You always did like pushin' around people smaller than you!
