I know I'm setting myself up for really abstract and vague answers, or someone just saying it's a stupid question. I don't care. What I'm trying to find out is the general tone of the set theme and piece cost wise (such as GG being cosmic and outer space and high costs). That was a simplistic estimation of the Galactic Guardian set, but it's kind of what I'm looking for. Tell me, and if you can compare it to past sets in the same way, such as, "Chaos War is dark and brooding with mid and high ish but not GG high cost pieces that has a lot of thinking pieces with outwits and a lot of masters of evil and teen avengers keywords. Compared to how I felt about the Hulk set, which was fun and more carefree, with piece costs all over the place."
I know it's asking a lot, and maybe that much info isn't even out, but I don't want to pre-order a case if it's going to suck like the AVM-Avengers Movie set kind of did, where I only wanted a few pieces. I don't even care about all the pieces in the CUR for GG, but I still have 'em; AVM didn't even provoke that small desire in me.
I would like it to be an awesome set and would love to buy a case if so. My main question is, is it real with 5 piece boosters (I realize that real is a relative term here), or just Gravity Feed cases?
Thanks so much. Even if you don't want to go through all my foolishness, any answers would be appreciated!
Well, remember the original name was Mighty Avengers. So I'd expect a number of mid-to-high point good guys, lots of high-pointed villains, and some easy team-building given half the figs will have Avengers keyword.
given that the set used to be called Mighty Avengers i'd assume it's a set with a strong Avengers (secret, dark, young, new etc...) theme including most of their top villains (ultron, kang)
Basicly its avenger focused. Avengers, there enemy's and the pets. But as far as costs? I'd guess many mid to lower point cost character's to support the bricks in the set. Most avengers I think will not be too hard to build teams around (with a few exceptions) I think we may see the original masters of evil finally. (Black Knight is confirmed and melter is the only one to never be made). Hope you get the answers you where looking for.
And thanks for the nice replies, I know I worded myself in a silly way and asked for a lot of different questions to be answered and feedback to be given.
based on previews so far its looking like a beastly set. of three figs previewed the point costs are 299-350 gg eat ur heart out. I woulnt expect too many more beatstick figs though. should average around 150ish point cost overall
I hope it has a lot of the Dark Avengers, I'd collect all of those.
EDIT: Well, it already has Sentry, so I'd say there's a pretty good possibility. The last Dark Avengers keywords on pieces came from The Web of Spiderman Set I believe.
It's going to have Ares, too, as he's pictured on the booster. So there's the last original Dark Avenger needing the keyword out of the way.
Expect a big Avengers presence, with several of their enemies thrown in. I doubt we'll see any X-people, unless the Sinister winner-designed piece is included.
We just had Black Panther in Cap, about a year ago, so he's not likely. But who knows these days.
The set seems to be a "Heroic Age" update of a lot of Avengers stuff, including Young Avengers, Dark Avengers, Pet Avengers, Great Lakes Avengers, etc. I'm guessing the point range will be similar to GSX, ranging from middling (Cap, Hawkeye, Ant-Man) to high (Thor, Sentry).
I'm actually quite looking forward to this set. I'm usually not too fond of sets this remake-heavy, but with the pop-culture spotlight on The Avengers right now it's absolutely a good move. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't stoked about getting two new Visions.
I also suspect this is the first set EVER where I'll want to track down all the LE figures (The Future Foundation).
Could we maybe please get a Negative Man figure, if it isn't too much trouble?
The type of set you can completely skip and play the figures I've bought in the last month instead and save myself a couple hundred dollars.
Seriously, out of the 38 figures on the evidence thread, only 9 have never been clixed. 7 of those 38 we've just gotten versions of within the last 2-3 sets.
** Is that Future Foundation Spider-Man on the box art (OP kit prizes) a repaint of the Silver Surfer sculpt???***
