Well if I do get my video card upgraded, I'll be online playing within the week. I think you're right, Phoenix, its just that that's out of date.

It'd be nice to start playing on day 1, or heck, even at the midnight release, but obviously now that's not possible. I'll just have to wait. Besides, unlike the people who will be playing for competition right away, I'd prefer to take my time and savor the game and play it slowly so I understand the story and whatnot. A few extra days won't kill me (although considering Diablo is my all time favourite gaming series, it'll be sorta disappointing).

AFAIK they aren't going to have exclusives for sale. You can still trade and such for game things.

I see it as no different than people using the eBay and such.

Why does it irritate you?

From what I understand it's set up to where the players buy/sell the items for real money. So if you want to spend time farming for equipment people want to buy then you can go do that and sell it. Or if you get some equipment that you don't need or already have and really don't want to trade or sell it for gold you can sell it for real money. Blizzard probably figures that people are going to do this anyways off site so they might as well make it safer and profit from it themselves. Now you don't have to give your account password to some stranger so they can dump the equipment onto your character or meet up with them in hopes that they actually have the piece and not just stealing your money. Also Blizzard gets some money to offset the server costs *shrugs*.

Well never mind its official. Checked the system specs, I 100% can't run it, even on my new, barely a year old laptop, because the stupid video card won't meet the minimum requirements (even though a year ago it was ultra top of the line). So thanks computer gaming industry, you'll deny a huge fan and willing customer their chance to play because of this scheme you have going to milk people of their money by releasing increasingly demanding games that require them to upgrade every 6 months to play anything brand new.

This is why I tend to avoid PC gaming and embrace consoles. Sadly D3 is ONLY for the PC...

Sorry to hear that KoBo, it runs fine on my laptop (just stopped playing this morning because I have to go to work), and it's just an HP off the shelf. I couldn't even tell you what kind of video card it has. I picked this beast up about a year ago as well.

I've got a gaming mouse en route, but I'm holding off on buying for a few days to make sure launch bugs get ironed out.

I haven't even been able to log on yet .. seems the servers are slammed. Hopefully I'll have better luck tonight.

Because it will promote the same equipment farming horse#### that ruined D2 multiplayer.

I mean, I can count on my hand the number of times I actually had people play through the game legitimately with me, without succumbing to "PLZ RUSH US MR. 87!!"

Given how well Blizzard approached that problem, I'm not holding out a lot of faith that they've resolved it here.

I played the beta weekend they had for it and was not impressed. I'm happy for the folks that do enjoy it but I wont be one of them.

Well servers were profusely clogged last night, Finally got in, and I had some play time. Looks like today it's another issue with creating games (if you are lucky enough to log back in).
