just as the post says.. ive been playing now about 2-3 mos and ive got a shoebox full of clix. seems its time for me to upgrade to something more... well not so shady as a shoebox. lol. if you have a good storage system, could you please tell me what the name brand of it is and the dimensions? ill probably buy on the internet if possible. oh and far as size is concerned, bigger the better. i have a CUR set of every set minus 1-2 in the modern age sets.
Yup, I use the card boxes with one row divider, the 2,000 card box. I leave the row dividers in and finds it keeps the teams together and figures become less entangled with each other. I have 18 of these for my 1992 figure collection with the 2x2 and 3x5 base figures on a shelf. At a cost of $3 to $4 a piece it is vastly more affordable than plastic containers.
These are $4.45 on Amazon, but I get them cheeper from the baseball card shop in town.
I've been using the PLANO ~2.5" deep boxes for years. Two of them is usually enough to hold all the figures I want from each regular release without crowding. As the sets cycle I eventually turn the Plano boxes into assorted themes...
...for example, in a month or so Galactic Guardians has made it so that I have to seriously re-evaluate the way I've been storing Defenders figures. Up until this release, the Invaders, Guardians of the Galaxy and the Squadron Supreme have all peacefully coexisted in the same box with the more classic 616 Defenders. It's a beautiful thing when an under-represented team from the dawn of HeroClix claims their own tackle box... just ask the JSA (now two boxes!) and Green Lantern Corps!
I've been using the 800 count one row card boxes. They cost about 80 cents each and I can usually fit a CUR/SR set in a box with the cards and a few extra copies of any generics. So, each set ends up with its own box.

The Planos aren't vastly more expensive; only about six bucks each. That's what I use.
Home Depot sells a cantilever organizer box for about $30. They're pretty durable, and hold about 3-4 sets. The larger organizer cups in the bottom can hold larger figs (duo-based, giants, odd-sized) reasonably well. The only fig I haven't been able to get to fit is T-Rex Beast Boy.

Home Depot also sells a Stanley Organiser Pro. Its in the tool section costs 16 bucks has removeable compartments 2 large enough to hold GSX sized super booster pieces and has a clear lid so you can see the figs. These are also lock togeather stackable.
I use plano boxes for my sr, chase le's and pieces I play most often. for all my others I use a card house, it has 12 1200 count boxes that i use for all my other cur's, just label and they slide in and out anytime i need access to a specific set.

This thing was too bulky for what it held, until I took ALL the "cups" out and made it a mass dump bin for my extras.

I use these. You can get a CUR set the big compartments and another 15 clix or so in the smaller ones. I buy multiples and put 4 of the large compartments in one, to hold 4 CUR sets with fast forces and such in the 4 smaller ones.
That leaves 12 smaller compartments in the other one and I use that for sets I have less figs for.
Home Depot now also sells 1.5" Plano cases (at least at my store) and I use those for SR storage.
