I'm looking forward to buying this on amazon for $40 + shipping on the last day of the Con or so like so many con exclusives in the past.
Which con exclusives were sold on Amazon in the past? You imply there were tons, but all I remember was Thor's Chariot and Fin Fang Foom. I don't recall Galactus, Dark Phoenix, Sinestro Corp. Anti-Monitor, The Spectre, and Dr. Manhanttan [which I believe the retail version is different] were sold on Amazon right after...but my memory could be wrong.
I run HeroClix tournaments every 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month at The Realm Games and Comics in Brea, California. The format of each tournament will be posted here.
Our Fear Itself prizing for The Realm will include the 2012 Punisher Con LE, Giant-Man Con LE, and Shuma Gorath Con LE.
They wont announce if there will be a retail version (with different dial/paint?) until they are sure you are nice and sad that you missed the con exclusive first.

Should have been more specific... meant SDCC exclusives. Which I believe have only been the Chariot and SDCC Dr. Manhattan. Amazon even still has SDCC (not retail) Manhattans for sale through them (not some collector/dealer).
Most companies that put out SDCC "exclusives" seem to have a funny habit of making it available online by the end of the Con.

Not worried about getting a Giant Man.
To be fair though, the Chariot wasn't really an SDCC exclusive, as it was sold in SDCC when HeroClix was "dead" and it was sold as a form of an announcement that Neca has the rights to HeroClix.
As for Dr. Manhattan, I believe the reason they're on Amazon was because they didn't sell as well as previous Con exclusives. Or at least they had a lot left over. It's usually the case with most companies with Con exclusives. And rather than leaving a huge surplus supply in the warehouse, I'm sure Neca posted it on Amazon to get rid of it.
That said, I don't know if it'll be on Amazon right after SDCC, as they are supposed to be available at GenCon as well. Depending on how many Giant-Man is left after GenCon will probably determine if they become available on Amazon or other non-Convention channels.
