In 1993, the Bloodlines event introduced several new characters to the DC Universe. Only one of those characters ended up being considered a success: Hitman. With an ongoing that lasted 60 issues and multiple appearances in other titles, today we're going to build some teams based around Tommy Monaghan.
Now it should be mentioned that before we get into these builds, that most of these if not all the team-ups Tommy has had would be considered reluctant at best. And note that we're using these teams since it's pretty unlikely that Tommy's usual crew of Natt, Ringo, Sean, Hacken and even Sixpack and Baytor will ever exist in Clix form.
Not that we don't have alternatives mind you. Before Tommy ever got his ongoing or before we were introduced to his supporting cast, he debuted in The Demon Annual #2 and then two storyarcs of The Demon, working with Jason Blood and his alter ego Etrigan. Jason welched on the payment, but this later caught up to him when Tommy blackmailed him into helping him track down an ancient supernatural rifle to stop the ancient Mawzir. But Tommy had some additional help in the very lithe form of Catwoman.

(Attack) Guns Blazing: Give Hitman a power action. He makes two separate ranged combat attacks as free actions (making two separate attack rolls against two different target opposing characters). Resolve the first attack before making the second; if he loses Guns Blazing before making the second attack, he can't make the second attack.
(Speed) Alter Ego: Etrigan: Give this character a power action and replace this character with a Bold and the Brave #039 Etrigan on its orange starting line. Existing action tokens from this character, as well as action tokens and pushing damage for this action are applied to the replacement Etrigan. If replaced, no victory points are awarded for this character and the replacement Etrigan is considered to be 44 points for all game effects.

This Ace of Killers team comes out to a cheap 190 points. That leaves you ten points for a Running Start on Tommy and a Lunge on Catwoman. Which sounds a lot dirtier than it is.
Anyways, during the run of his book, Tommy made a handful of appearances in other titles: Claremont's Sovereign Seven and DnA's Resurrection Man. None of those characters exist yet in Heroclix. Fortunately, Azrael does exist and in issue 35 of his book, him and Hitman got together without ever having read the issue, I can take a guess that a lot of bad guys got shot or stabbed by a flaming knife.

I wish there was another Azrael piece that could at least get this pair up to 200 points, but for now these two come out to a hundred exactly. Just keep them side by side to use that Batman Enemy TA.
I'll admit though that that's kind of a weak team up. Especially when we consider that over the course of his series, Tommy had several encounters with Batman, survived a showdown with Green Lantern and had a heart to heart talk with Superman (in possibly one of the best Superman stories ever). But rather than pair him up with each of them, we can get them all together like they were in the two issue miniseries JLA/Hitman.
A subspecies of the race from Bloodlines was threatening the JLA Watchtower and potentially Earth. Tommy was brought up to the Moon for being one of the few surviving Bloodlines people that could provide them with any sort of data on their race. Though it didn't hurt that Batman wanted to bring him in anyways for all the murders he'd committed. Things went from bad to worse and it came down to Hitman to save the Justice League.

(Special) The Artist: Once during your turn, if Kyle Rayner has no action tokens he can use Telekinesis (option 2) as a free action.
This Hitman/JLA team comes out to 696 points. While you've only got four points left over, it might be best used for an ATA (Amazon or Kryptonian), so Tommy can get the most use out of his wildcard status. And definitely keep him near Wonder Woman so her Defend can boost his defense up.
Our last team comes from the one shot Hitman/Lobo. Where Tommy just spends the whole issue humiliating The Main Man. Not a difficult task.

(Speed) Nobody Rides This Hog but the Main Man: Lobo can't carry characters. This power cannot be canceled. (Attack) Bounty Hunter: Before the beginning of the first turn of the game, choose an opposing character; Lobo modifies his attack value by +2 when attacking that character. When the character is KOd or eliminated, immediately choose a different opposing character to be the target of this ability.
Tommy and Lobo come out to 268 points. Leaves you a full 30 points for feats, twelve of which are going to have to go into Auto Regen for Lobo. The rest I'll leave up to you.
Love Tommy. I'm so happy that DC has put the rest of his stuff in collections. It used to end after the Who Dares Wins story
And that's when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. Every world spins in pain. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior.
― Sir Terry, via Lord Vetinari
Great review, sadly the heroclix version of this character needs a remake. I read the comics of this guy and really like Tommy's style but the clix version needs a lot of things like Supermanīs TA (for the x-ray vision and that heart to heart talk or at least the SU Ursa's X-ray trait), better stats, at least two clicks of Outwit (the guy manage to kick out the Main Men from his neighborhood), even perplex for his crazy plans and indomitable.
It's pretty unlikely that Tommy have a remake, but hey dream don't hurt
I've always said that Moronson's JLA was awful; the "recruitment" issue with Tomorrow Woman the worst; and not the least awful scene was Hitman's "audition."
"Hi. I'm Tommy Monaghan. I kill people for a living."
And the world's greatest super-heroes....let him walk out free.
i shudder to think of the "power of perversion" sp. . .
I'd rather his SP just be "Bueno".
"When the going gets weird, the weird go pro." - Hunter S. Thompson"
"Victim? Victim? Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?" - you have been getting insulted by nextwave.
I'd go with Fast Forces 150 point Superman for the JLA/Hitman team. He brings some prob control along with the ability to share his 18 defense with both Batman and Hitman. No indomitable, but I feel like he brings more to a team dynamic then all-star Superman.
