I'm just getting my paints together again (I haven't painted in so long about 50 tubs dried out), so seeing this is additional inspiration, one art schooler to another.
The only thing I would suggest is, not using black for washes. I think a much darker blue would work better for Cap, giving a better "shadow" appearance. Same thing for the white sections of his costume, maybe try a grey, or mix some off-whites with complementary colors to darken them up some.
Nice work! Can't wait to see more!

Always... no, no... never... forget to check your references.
Your washes look pretty good, amazing how something so simple can have such an effect on how detailed a figure looks. Keep up the good work, love to see figures that have been washed.
Updated The Romat-Ru pics, posted my 2nd paint job on Cap. I've been doing more experimenting with base colors and layering. Coincidentally, the paint jobs take twice as long now.
I'm starting work on an X-force Wolverine, and as soon as I get some X-actos and green stuff, I've got an old school Rogue I want to try.
Also, Any ideas on a readily available modern age dial for a custom nightcrawler? WOS is out of reach for me ATM, and I want to copy everyone else and do him too!
