View Poll Results: What is your favorite thing about "Clix Cast"?
I really enjoy the Casts. Steve and Gudda are funny and interesting to listen to.
I was hoping if they read the forums and find this thread, they might start utilizing content from the forum to enfuze their Casts. Provided others post things here with me. Maybe it would be a one shot wonder Cast, or maybe it will take off and become a hit interactive portal.
Ex. I am an older dad. I play Clix but... Its hard to get away from the females to play as often as my son and I would like. Information on how to form a game stratedy would be cool. How about how to build a good team (what do YOU look at as far as sculpts go to make determinations)? Other issues could include what one might gain knowledge "OF" in game, or as a result of playing often, that someone like myself will not obtain because of the lack of exposure to the game during a more populated venue?
Heres another good issue. Because I do not play that often, I have been catching people cheat. Now mind you, I am an older guy. I got into this to help keep my son and I bonded as he is getting older. When I play clix at comic shops, and people cheat, I do not bring notice to the fact, as most of the players are kids. Its a game... its for fun... If a kid cheats, its that childs characteristic. I'd rather let it pass then bring attention to the table that might create a bad vibe for newbies of that age or younger.
TRUE STORY:
Some kid outwitted my Wizard Shazam's Pen / Phyc. Blast. Team is "Q"! Cannot be outwitted Right? He was using four characters from the recent Superman set. It was a tourney for the Inbetweener. I cared, Yes. But, he was a teen. Is it possible he made a mistake? No, I have played with him for a few venues. He's good, and probably could have won without cheating. W. Shazam at a 12 range kept him from eating up my other sculpts. So I guess that was his strategy. Cheat! If the old guy doesn't know any better, its his fault. He should know the rules better...
I let it pass. Just a game right...?
What do you all think? Comments... Ideas.
...I hope this post wasnt confusing...?
Keep up the good work Clix Cast!!!
Maybe go video one day...
Cheating is cheating, bottom line. You don't have to be a jerk pointing it out, maybe they did forget. If someone tried to outwit my Unoutwittable piece I would simply say "he's Quintessence, can't outwit him". Clean and simple, no accusations, no feelings hurt. I play for fun but I play by the rules. I'm paying a certain number of points for that Quintessence piece, I'm not going to let you ignore that.
2012 Tournament Record: 7 Wins - 7 Losses
2 Second Place Finishes

Cheating by accident or cheating on purpose. neither is good, so just state that it can't be done because of his team ability. It'll help him to remember and if he was doing it on purpose, hopefully stop him from trying to again.
the Clixcasts are awesome. Hope they continue and get new ideas on topics from this thread!!
It targets the casual players. I hope it stays that way. There are better podcasts now then Clixcast such as Push to Regen or Heroclix Show. But they are pioneers. I got to give them credit on that. If they weren't so harsh on the meta game and power gaming I wouldn't have started my own podcast.
I used to listen to it during work but had to stop listening to it. I'm not familiar with their names but someone's heavy breathing was annoying and reminded me of Family Guy's NAAFP meeting.
They've improved the audio quality since the last time I tried listening to it, which is appreciated.
Steve seems to remain more mindful of where the microphone is, while Gudda appears more likely to start to forget about it and so the volume starts to drop off. (e.g. listen just as it passes the 50 minute mark.) Gudda seems to have a bit of breathing distress.
I like the everyman feel of it - for the most part it's just two enthusiasts trading comments, not two guys pretending to be experts holding forth. It's appreciated.
If anything's worth saying, then it's worth saying clearly. When quoting a Trait or SP there's not much point to speeding and muttering through it as if it's a bit of legal boilerplate one's obligated to include.
I dislike the intro song, which is my subdued, kindly reaction to it. Get a few drinks in me and I'll get more colorful about it. The ending "song" is worse in some ways ("Get off my lawn!" old guy anti-Rap warning), but at least there's more effort in the lyrics and sample choices.
Anyway, "Topics" won for me.

LOL. Ya ever since other Clix podcasts have come out, I can't find any reason to listen to the Clixcast. I appreciate the work they do and the time they devote to it, but you take out the all the complaining and tangents, and you're left with very little useful information. Sorry guys, but the other shows have taken the lead.

I like the idea that they are for the casual player(s). There are times when I find myself taking the game waaaay too seriously. That's why I'll always listen to them. And they were one of the pioneers of the Heroclix podcasts.
As far as better? I don't know about that. Differently f
ocused, perhaps. But one man's better is another man's worse.
Push to Regen is for the "Middle of the Road" player and your podcast, Darklogos is perfect for the meta (which I listen to as well, when I am gearing up for the IG's and other competitve tourneys...just wish you'd go back to MP3)
Point being, there is now something for every level of player, every type of player. Everybody.
I don't hate the podcasts. I think they can be a little anti-climatic, and it would be nice if they could have guests on the podcast. It'd be fantastic if they could get a wizkids staff member on the podcast.
