Brave and the Bold has phased out of the Modern Age (as has the piece coming in the next article), but with that set were so many great generic pieces that I know I'll be coming back to it for a while.
But this piece showed up and caught a lot of eyes taking a long look at that special power and start to wonder how to abuse it. Oh right... you don't remember the special power, so let's peek at the dial:

(Damage) Vital Strike : If League Elite's damage value is 5 or more when resolving the attack, deal 1 penetrating damage to the target after resolving the initial attack.
Union Strong! (playing only these pieces)
As they're 33pts each, fitting these guys comfortably into a team is easy, and the smaller the build, the easier it is.
They play simple enough. Use their stealth to get into position (play on the Shadowland map or in The Park) to better your chances to advance without getting just picked off, because their lack of any other defense is their vulnerability.
You're going to need your luckiest dice with these guys and you're going to want to make sure you've got pieces free to take Theme Prob tokens, too. It's not just to make the attacks, but also to get decent Blades rolls. Make every hit count!
If you're concerned that the Stealth isn't going to get the job done, or the build gets up towards the 400+ level, take a look at the League of Assassins ATA:
League of Assassins - 7pts
Quote
Lines of fire to a character using this team ability are blocked if this character is adjacent to a wall or blocking terrain.
On the right maps, it could help your progress and hinder those pesky anti-Hindering and anti-stealth TAs and pieces.
Wave After Wave (playing them with a leader/support)
Options abound for leaders and include the extension of the League ATA.
One thing to watch with your leaders is their TAs. If you're going with Sensei or Ra's, make sure that you've got someone else with the TA to share AVs.
But looking for Leadership, Outwit, or Perplex in your leaders is going to be worth its weight in points, so if they've got Mastermind, let a few of your Elite eat it to keep the powers on the table that open up your options.
Also, within theme, consider some Man Bat Assassins to improve mobility and use the Elite as stealth blockers while you get into position to make your strikes.
You're going to need finesse (or a favorable scenario) to get the most out of these guys, even with a leader or help.
Hired Goons
You've got a lot of choices these days when it comes to filling your army's ranks. When you want a loyal group that's ready to jump into action sword-first, the League Elite are right for you.
When's the right time to bring them out? With enough you can probably get the map you need, so they're never completely helpless. But in a scenario where no range comes into play or maybe everyone needs B/C/F (Swashbucklers!), then the League Elite can really get some extra mileage.
Thanks for reading and check back next time for a look at the Marvel side of this stealthy equation!
League, Elite, Sensei, Shadow Assassins, Man-Bat Assassins, Talia, Merlyn, and Ra's. Not the prettiest team, but fun matched against a Bat Family team in a street level scenario. Maybe toss in Bronze Tiger and Lady Shiva, too.........
(Master Bruce and a bunch of Shadow Assassins against Shadowland Daredevil and Hand Ninjas, not a bad time, either.....)
Good to see them get some love. One of my favorite keywords and with Merlyn, Ra's, Talia, etc they are at least competetive. The ATA combined with likely winning map choice has been good to me.
