For a minute I was thinking we were talking about Portal, the Darkhawk ally from Marvel Comics. Now that would have been some seriously upsetting news.
Zombie Panic: Source would make a great set for this reason:
There are:
5 characters (cop, hippie guy, other guy, waitress, other lady)
5 characters (Zombie version)
1 Carrier Zombie
I would want at least one full set of these to use in 28mm zombie gaming, possibly more. And if I decided I wanted them for Heroclix, that would be another set as well.
In fact I'd likely buy quite a bit of any expansion with zombies in it. Zombies with regular human versions are something that I scour the game convention booths for though!

A TF2 mini-set would be awesome for Heroclix. It would be cool if they just packaged it as a stand alone game with a few maps and one of each figure for Red and Blue. It could be a great introduction to Heroclix for new players. They could even work in Capture the Flag or something.
L4D might work as an objective based mini-game too.
Are You Still There?: When an opposing character moves within range and line of fire of Portal Turret, it may immediately make a ranged or close combat attack.
Nah. You can't sneak up on it then. Try this for a special power:
Give Turret a free action to place a special marker anywhere within range and line of sight. Whenever an opposing character crosses the line between Turret and this marker, deal that character 2 damage.

I think they could just do a 10 piece gravity feed of "ZombieClix" and people would buy them. Just reuse the old Horrorclix figs. Each would have a thing that makes them different from each other.
These would have a wider appeal than just clix players. Zombie fans could get in to it too.
Release shortly after a 10 pc "Hunter" pack. Have different Paranormal hunters (also sculpts from the Horrorclix sets)
If those sell well, then do the 10 piece "monster" pack, have Vampires, Werewolves, demon, ghosts, etc..
Since they already have the sculpts, this would be cheaper to make than other current sets and I think they would be a fun addition (make them golden age, like the other "non comic" sets.)
Actually I wonder if they do have them or not. I mean with heroclix they only have access to sculpts HOT and later (ie the sets they have released) so logically the same would apply to Horror as well

Yeah, it would be GREAT to get human versions and then the zombie versions of the same humans to mimic infections and such.
I play Zombie Panic: Source so I am more attached to it, and it's much more realistic than Left 4 Dead, but I would gladly take any official Heroclix zombies:
Zombie Panic: Source
Left 4 Dead
Resident Evil
Dawn of the Dead (Romero stuff)
28 Days Later
The Walking Dead
Hell, if they made a 60 figure set with 10 figs from each of these Zombie franchises, it would sell like hotcakes, I do believe.
They could even make them Golden Age only like they (ruined) did with Lord of the Rings and they would still sell.

I have about a dozen pairs of humans and their zombie counterparts. All mine are from Hasselfree and Zombiesmith. Of course, I had to paint all those. I use them for convention games (currently using ATZ rules). I would love more.

I would buy a lot of this set.

I would buy ALL of this set! Ha ha.
The problem is something like Resident Evil or even The Walking Dead could get a whole set.
Probably the single booster sets might be the way to go with stuff like this. The Avengers Team Pack ideas would be nice for Zombie teams.
I'm still not sure why NECA/Wizkids hasn't tried a zombie set of any kind. I don't think it's the licensing, that's for sure. It just might be Marvel and DC saying they don't want a large amount of zombies in Heroclix, but after Marvel Zombies and Blackest Night being made, I'm not sure they could really say that.
It might be they think the fans don't want zombies in their Heroclix game, but I would bet 50% or more of players would. And it would draw in new players as well. Hmmmmm.....

Huh, the Classics sets NECA released had Armor Wars sculpts in them.
Instead of HCO codes, Portal Clix could include mp3 downloads of "Still Alive."
HA! That would be very funny indeed. Especially as it took me a while to find that file myself. It is a great piece; I thought the production quality was magnificent. Rep to you.
