DIY dice tower
I made one of these for our home games and someone requested I do a How-To write up.... so here it is.

I would STRONGLY recommend reading all the way thru and looking at the pictures before you start working.

Supplies needed

2 booster boxes
a quality beverage (cannot hobby without one)
scissors
stapler
didn't show it, but: Duct tape (or some other type tape that is less cool than duct tape)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/5c1f7438.jpg

Step 1
cut all the tabs off the top of both boxes and cut one of the boxes in half. it is cut on the wider side of the box.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/aa90a40c.jpg

Step 2
using the wide side of the box as a guide (does not need to be exact) cut one of the box halves into three strips and discard the bottom leftover.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/0b18409f.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/0fbbefd7.jpg

Step 3
Cut off the corners of the three tabs you created at a 45 degree angle
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/9eb9022e.jpg

enjoy some of that quality beverage, you've earned it

Step 4
On the other box that should only have the top tabs cut off (box 2) also cut off the bottom tabs and cut a window in the bottom of the box as shown here
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/44b1f2d6.jpg

Step 5
on Box two opposite the window you just cut, cut a flap the same size but do not remove it (this is for staple access later)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/60eff266.jpg

Step 6
You are going to need to see the picture for this one...
The three tabs are the dice baffles, I positioned them in the approximate location on the outside of the box to show where they go on the inside
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/6379d7a2.jpg

Step 7
Now we are going to staple in the top baffle first, I like to position it with the top of the baffle about a half inch from the top of the box so the dice drop in easy. The baffle is held in place with one staple per side (from under the baffle). If desired you can use additional staples and tape to your hearts content.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/bee575e3.jpg

Now some more of that quality beverage might be appropriate.

Step 8
Do the middle baffle next and it should be sending the dice away from the window on Box 2 and should be positioned just above the window.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/4b9bbcf0.jpg

Step 9
The bottom baffle should have it's tabs flush with the bottom of the box and should be sending the dice out thru the window on box 2
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/04218363.jpg

Step 10
the remaining half of box 1 is going to be the catch tray, cut the length to two times the tower width.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/44b1f2d6.jpg

Step 11
staple the catch tray to the bottom (window side) of box 2 using four staples and using the flap for access to the back two staples.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/55fd4731.jpg

Step 12
Tape the back of the box (the flap) shut
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/1227ced9.jpg

Personal preference
use duct tape to cover the edges of the top and lower openings to prolong the life of your dice tower.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/66d3a70a.jpg

I suppose you could paint it or decorate it if you wanted, I'm happy with the redneck engineering look myself... I mean, who doesn't love duct tape???

Now sit back, admire your work and enjoy that beverage....

Why post it if it's not ready?

The thread space will still be here when it's done.

Red Green would be proud.
I'll have to try this. I'm really tired of chasing dice across the floor.

Sorry I can not take this seriously because of the purple carpet. It's just throwing me off.

Are there bean bag chairs around? Some fake fur on the wall? A mirror ball hanging from the ceiling? A hooka on the coffee table?

Disturbing as it is, you almost exactly (minus the mirror ball, but I do still have that old lava lamp) described my bedroom from 20 years ago. Oh yeah, and my 1975 Ventura had those "foot" pedals and green dingleballs.
