Last updated: October 24, 2012 with shipping dates for the OP Kits
The goal: To collect all the actual information we have for the Batman: No Man's Land event series, and to provide links to the places we got that information from. This post will be updated when more information appears, and I will post to this thread to indicate when I have changed this post.
The sources:
This is a list of every source I've found so far. Sources are indicated as follows:
Official: Information from WizKids/NECA directly.
Secondary: Information from other professional sources.
Other: Information gotten third hand, such as reports of conversations at conventions.
This is meant as a general measure of reliability of the information presented, but not an absolute one. Previews of individual figures and figure photographs are not listed in this section to keep it from being cluttered. Just see the individual piece for these.
Venues will need to have accounts at Wizkids Event System. Players are not required to join WES, but are encouraged to do so. (Official Site)
It will feature both participation and competitive prizes. (Preview slide) Batman's utility belt and the items it contains will be the participation prizes. Each accessory item can either be used as a special object in the game or as a belt attachment. (God Dammit Jason, Official Site)
Utility belt items will apparently be useful both as resources (part of the belt) and as relics with each side of the card corresponding to one mode. (Resource card, Relic card)
There will be prime versions of the belt objects in addition to the regular versions. How these will be distributed isn't clear. One will be bat shark repellant. (dseanhillman)
Possibly related to the above, there are other options for Utility Belt items. See section below for specifics. (Batman OP Kit preview) New!
The number of OP kits for this event that may be purchased will be tied to the number of cases of HeroClix purchased from related sets. The first three months of OP kits will be tied to purchases of Batman. (Batman brick solicitation) The purchasing schedule is: (Official Site)
Month 1 & 2: 4 cases of Batman for one OP kit, 12 cases for two OP kits.
Month 3 & 4: 4 cases of Batman: Streets of Gotham for one OP kit, 12 cases for two OP kits.
Month 5 & 6: 4 cases of an unnamed DC set due out in April for one OP kit, 12 cases for two OP kits.
Each prize kit will contain 20 of each participation prize and 4 (first, second, fellowship and judge) of each competition prize LE figure, with the exception of the grand prize Batcave resource dial, of which there will be two (first and judge). (Official Site)
Each map will be double-sided and feature both a normal and earthquake ravaged versions of the location covered. There will be 10 copies of each map per prize kit. (Official Site)
A special rule for the No Man's Land event series, is to start playing on the pre-earthquake side, and roll the dice at the end of each player's turn. On a 3 or less, the earthquake occurs and the map is flipped over and the characters are replaced in the same locations they were in before. If the character can't be placed in the location it formerly occupied due to a map change, it is dealt 1 unavoidable damage and moved to the nearest location it can. (Official Site)
Affiliation and Tagging:
Players will chose to affiliate themselves with different forces trying to take over Gotham during the No Man's Land Storyline: Batman, GCPD, Black Mask, Joker, Killer Croc and Two Face. (OP Sheet #1) It is not clear if player's choose an affiliation once per venue, or per game.
The first OP kit will contain a "map of Gotham" poster, and the gant that acquires the most "event points" during each event will "tag" the section associated with the event. (OP Sheet #1) The Gang that controls the most territory at the end of the event will win a special prize at the end of the OP series. (Official Site)
The map includes locations that tie to the maps for events (Blackgate Prison, Wayne Manor, Power Plant, Robinson Park, Gotham Waterfront, Dockside Amusement Park) as well as other "secondary map locations" (Crime Alley, Gotham Clock Tower, Gotham Streets, Gotham Bank, Arkham Asylum). (Gotham Map) The secondary locations are not used in NML, but match maps from the Batman and Streets of Gotham sets, and can be used for campaign play. (Munchoboy-1)
WK will also track which gangs are most successful globally. (Official Site)
Event points are scored in the same way as they were for the Infinity Gauntlet: (OP Sheet #1)
1 point for attending the event.
1 point per game lost
2 points per game won
3 points per event won
Also like Infinity Gauntlet, you will need to have earned 12 points to qualify to play in the final event. (OP Sheet #1)

================================== No Bat-Shark repellent!
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
Suggested builds for each month:
Nov/Dec -300 sealed from Batman
Jan -300 sealed from Batman: SOG single fig boosters
Feb -400 Floor from either
Mar -400 sealed from Batman and Batman: SOG
April -400 Sealed Batman
May -600 Constructed from Batman, B: SOG, and NML
that's a lot of sealed
I've completed collecting the IC, CT, XP, CM, Ult, MM, FF, AW, Sin, SN, AVE, M&M, SI, HoT, WoS, GSX, CA, IH, GG, AVM, CW, M10th, ASM & IM3 sets.
Looking to get PR Professor X (W/X-Men) and pre-release IC Wolverine.
Interesting. So the person that wins the most events ends up receiving an additional prize?
...Well, 5 bucks says the groups at my store are going to see this and manipulate it to their favor by just not playing one specific person in their group, giving them free wins, boosting their chances at getting Penguin.
Just... lovely. Let's let the people who play this game solely to win have even more reason to screw over those of us who play for fun! -.-" I'mma have to talk with the owner about this, see what we could maybe do to prevent it.
I do like the items they're giving though. Gas Pellets are probably Smoke Cloud, Batarangs are probably some sort of range enhancer, or allow you to make a ranged combat attack at X range, Grapnel Gun will probably be "Phasing/Teleport, but must end on a higher elevation", Flash Grenades are the only ones I can't think of anything for, Re-Breather will allow for unhindered movement through water, Batman's Cowl gives them a trait where you have to speak like you have smoker's lung, and shout WHY DO YOU WANT TO KILL ME, JOKER every time that character is targeted for an attack, and the handcuffs are most likely Incapacitate, or possibly they're bringing back the Capture mechanic.
Also... The Bat Cave as a resource dial? AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
I think the 'tagging' part of the event sounds like fun.
Noticed a few other things going through the events.
- Special Earthquake rules to flip the maps mid-game.
- The Batcave HeroClix Resource is the Grand Prize (like Thanos, 1 for winner 1 for judge) not the Joker/Harely
...I wonder if the Earthquake thing is set on a timer. For instance, 10 minutes into the game, you flip the map over. I feel that would be somewhat cool, but tedious at the same time, having to remember exactly where all your people are. Unless everyone just warps back to the starting areas. Never mind. I just read the OP instructions. Kinda disappointing that you have to REPEATEDLY do this if you roll a 3 or less. :K
And again, I state. Batcave Resource Dial! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

You roll for it at the end of every turn. When you land the roll required, you flip the map over and place everyone back on the exact square they were on. If their new location is in illegal terrain (for instance, if a figure is not in blocking terrain) they take 1 unavoidable (to simulate getting hit with debris I assume).

Yeah, I decided to read the OP instructions.
Also, with the gang thing, we're being placed onto teams, but only kind of? Interesting. I like this idea a lot. Hopefully the owner at my store will randomize it Month 1, and keep people on said teams for the remainder.
