While we are getting the umpteenth version of Superman, Batman and some color or other of Lantern, there are still oh so many more or less popular characters out there that are still waiting impatiently for their Heroclix debut.
Today I will be talking about one of the oldest characters that needs a Clix… Star-Spangled Kid!!
The Star-Spangled Kid was one of the original Seven Soldiers of Victory back in the 1940s. As a twist on the kid sidekick idea, Sylvester Pemberton was the kid with an adult sidekick Stripesy. The two of them were like a brightly-colored Batman and Robin, although they did have a flying car that Batman lacked. (Where does he get those wonderful toys?) Like the rest of the original Seven Soldiers, they were tossed through time and returned in our present decades later.
The Kid then took Starman’s Cosmic Rod for himself and adapted it into a belt that gave him the powers of flight, increased agility, the ability to shoot bursts at people and the ability to make solid light constructs.
Why clix him? They already clixed his successor (Stargirl), his sidekick (STRIPE), most of his old teammates in the Seven Soldiers, Justice Society, and Infinity Inc… make him already!
Who would he play with? Sylvester is a team player! As mentioned, he would go along with other original Seven Soldier members such as Vigilante, STRIPE, Oliver Queen (the judge prize LE from Justice League) and Crimson Avenger.
He was also a member of the bronze-age Justice Society, and would fit with most members of that team.
And he was the founder of Infinity Inc, so would go well with Jade, Obsidian, Atom Smasher, Hourman, or Mr. Bones.
In non-comics themes, he’s a natural fit for any patriotic teams with the likes of Captain America.
Likely keywords: Past, Seven Soldiers, All-Star Squadron, Justice Society of America, Infinity Inc, Celebrity
What would his dial look like?
The Kid really needs two dials, to represent his “Batman and Robin” side and then his later super-powered side.
Golden Age Era
Into the fight (Charge)
Acrobat (Leap/Climb)
Trained fighter(Combat Reflexes)
A lotta punch for a kid(Close Combat Expert)
Perhaps a special power to go along with a pre-armor Stripesy, and a duo fig of them as well.
And a special power to represent the Star Rocket Racer (his flying car) dropping him off at the scene.
JSA for his Team Ability
And then with the Belt or Rod…
From the sky… (Running Shot)
Starbursts (Energy Explosion)
Solid Light constructs (Incapacitate)
Force Field (Toughness)
This thing is versatile (Energy Shield/Deflection)
JSA for his Team Ability again

And then join me in two weeks when I showcase another Unclixed DC character—a space-pirate who’s long overdue in Clix!
I'd love to see him made. Been a fan since the Seven Soldiers were rescued in that JLA/JSA annual crossover.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Killraven, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
Been one of my biggest wants for years. Need to do an action pack with the original infinity Inc. Still need Silver Scarab, Fury, Northwind, Brain Wave, and a proper Nuklon.
Not up for a full dial design at the moment, but I did want to give a thumbs-up to the character choice.
I'd like to see some of the versatility in play, say by not going old school design with straight PAC elements on Defense (for the Rod/belt era), and give him both Toughness and ES/D via a Special Power.

What about his "short" career as Skyman? I always felt that Star Spangled Girl was done wrong with the REV since the Vet dial was suppose to show her with both the Belt and the Rod (although her Vet is a great piece for the points and is probably still valid in today's play). http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...-7oOu8n2DVPGYU
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

Sky Rocket Racer: Star-Spangled Kid & Stripesy possess the symbol and may carry up to 3 adjacent figures if they all possess a similar keyword. Into the Fray Four-Fisted Teamwork: Give Star-Spangled Kid & Stripesy a Double Power Action. They may use Flurry twice as Free Actions. Stars & Stripes Forever Dugan's Toughness I'm a Bodyguard, Not a Sidekick! Pemberton's Agility
If I could make only one 'clix: the Melter (Marvel) or Negative Man (DC)
Great choice for this edition of unclixed. Stargirl is my favorite super hero, and I fell in love with her predecessor when I found out she was a legacy. The duo dial listed above is awesome! I would play that at 110 pts on any justice society team. I absolutely love the middle click of 8av 18def, defend and star rocket racer special. It's like they get hit and then call in the racer to shield everyone!!!
This character is long overdue. As a matter of fact most of the Seven Soldiers need to be made. Some have been made in other costumes or versions of the characters. We also need a non-armored Stripesy, a male Shinning Knight, Green Arrow and Speedy in their Robin Hood getups and Wing.
We could use a Crimson Avenger in his superhero costume as well.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Killraven, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
