Today’s preview from DC HeroClix: DC 10th Anniversary examines the power of Willpower in the DCU. We are happy to showcase two heroes who have gone by the name Green Lantern! [...]
Love that trait on Hal. Was just thinking recently that I haven't seen a GL with a special that would let them make a ranged attack and then set up a barrier around the hit target for free. This isn't exactly what I thought, but it is close enough.
Dr. Polaris encountering Lex Luthor in the men's room while Flash is in Luthor's body.
Dr. P: "Aren't you going to wash your hands?"
Lex: "No. Cause I'm evil!"
Well now, I wasn't actually interested in DC 10th Anniversary, but then along comes this. What do we have here? Alan is a budget friendly KC GL and JSA support figure. Hal combines all my favorite elements of Invisible Woman, the SR Alan Scott and good ole Klaw with the added perk that, as written, his free attack isn't actually limited to those adjacent to /his/ barrier tokens. Terrific!
I was given rep for my screen name alone! Now I feel all warm inside
Hal's power supplied by the removable object is MUCH better than previous versions. Being a Trait means it is immediately available, and the free close combat can be used immediately after the removable object is attached. This allows Hal a 9-range close combat attack which can target a character using Stealth, AND to characters who occupies squares which are not even in LOF from Hal. Characters hiding behind blocking terrain or behind walls can be attacked! Very cool, this fig is now one of my main Wants from the DC10 set!

When I started playing, I remember using the rookie GL from Unleashed all the time. He was the same point cost as Mr. Scott here for similar powers, but Alan's numbers have made an astonishing leap. That was such a quaint, naive era.

Agreed! Nicely done Hal who has a solid 8 range Invuln to start and has two ways to avoid your stealth with the CC attack barrier and the Brightest Day SP ability. So that starting click will be a 19 with invuln 3 damage 10 RS and 10 attack with TK. I like it! Especially that click 2 has RS and PB
As a more economic version of the character, I'm liking Alan Scott a lot. If points aren't an issue, I'd definitely go with the DC75 version. But this one still looks fun and worthwhile.
Hal also looks fine to me. I have plenty of Hal's already, so another one doesn't excite me all that much. But sculpt, powers, and numbers all look pretty good for him.
I dunno. A 6 click Alan Scott without any damage reduction? He won't last long without JSA defensive support. And even then, I dunno. He's more of an expensive support piece (at 93 points) than anything else. Definitely use promotion on him.
