We continue our series of previews for the Marvel HeroClix: 10th Anniversary set by checking in with the financial backer of, and a founding member of the Avengers, he is the Invincible Iron Man!
2 more Iron Man figures to choose from. Way to use those slots wisely. I am a huge fan of heroclix but I am done with this. I am sick of seeing, Ironman, Captain America, and Thor, right along with all the new DC remakes. In a 24-51 figure set I don't want to see remakes consume 60% of the slots.
I might have to pick up the classic armor for the sculpt since I don't have that brick figure. I actually think it's neat that a classic armor suit has the "classic" lack of SP's (minus promotion mechanic of coarse).
The modern one is nice as well but I don't really need another version of that.
Love this Iron Man. Want him so bad! He's got everything the Chaos Wars ones lacked and then some! Also, finally a cheap Illuminati Iron Man!
Literally, he's got everything the Chaos Wars incarnations didn't all have, mashed into one. Flight, Indomitable, Sharpshooter sometimes, and badass support topping heavy offense with great numbers to boot. I know we got a ton of Iron Men, but this one takes the cake.

You do realize this is the 10th Anniversary set, right? And, as such, it will be entirely remakes?
And, from a marketing POV, who does it make more sense to remake: Cap, Thor, and Iron Man? Or Boomerang, Constrictor, and Mojo?
I've got no problem imagining that this set isn't for everybody... but I am kind of surprised that you seem so upset about it
"How does [insert special power] work with the new 2013 rules?"
Most everything special power-wise, we're looking into. The PAC changes may change the way some special powers function; we're checking on them before the June release. In the meantime, ask your judge.
The modern suited Tony is a Gauntlet Buster? Stupid. It's like Kid Zoom Vs. Nightcrawler all over again.
It isn't, because modern-Tony is actually really good just on his own. Holy balls! How do either of those dials cost so little?
Urgh. I dislike Iron Man as a character and I hate that mod-Tony's trait exists at all on anyone, but I guess I'll be picking one up to stay on top of the curve.
The Battlefield Promotion mechanic has the potential to radically change games.
The 101-pt Iron Man 012 can Running Shot, dual target 2 opposing figures on Turn 1, either to Incap (my preference) or divide the 3-damage. Assuming both targets are hit, on a die roll of 6 you replace the figure with 225-pt 009 Iron Man on the same click #1.
EDIT: was advised a character can only get 1 BattPromo token per turn, I mis-read the mechanic.
We thought it was bad when GG Galactus brought in a Herald, all these BattPromo's have the potential to seriously unbalance the point totals of teams.
As for dial design, 009 IM is, indeed, the Gauntlet Silver Bullet. At least 009 IM is more combat effective than Kid Zoom, so there will be not as much of a drop-off in efficiency if ADAPTIVE ARMOR is not activated.

Reason: Mis-read game mechanic
