He's the greatest criminal mastermind of our era! Lex Luthor!
The subject of today’s DC HeroClix: 10th Anniversary set preview has gone through many changes over the years – he was even President of the United States at one point – but one constant has remained: Destroy Superman! Please welcome Lex Luthor!
Rookie Question - Does he deal penetrating with charge on dial 3,4 and 5?
He would be able to deal penetrating damage, both close and ranged, if the Target has that keyword/TA.
Don't know how I feel about the rookie version, but the vet/exp version is great. I don't see the rookie promoting often unless poison counts as a hit, which I doubt, and even with that its a stretch. Wish it also had the superman revenge squad keyword though.
Lazy-Boy Lex in his fancy chair is a junk heap dial, but it does make me remember the days when Superman Enemy TA bad guys were all over costed support. So, good job making me recall the "good" old days? At nearly 90 pts he brings nothing I cant find cheaper/better...but...
Battle Lex! Oh yes, finally. This guy has style and a dial. Everything about new era heroclix thats both wrong and right. Psychic blast...meh...everyone gets it. But. Great traits and SPs that are both useful and character accurate without being broken. Plus 160 pts for Wildcarding, Psyblasting, great stats? Ya. I know he is little low on the range but his "Quasar-ing Shot" helps a lot.
What is up with that first sculpt? I know he had hair in his first appearence and that the artist got him confused with Ultra-humanite and ever since he was bald. Why is he on a throne? What's up with the red robe?
Everying else is pretty decent. I'm surprised the newer Lex got the Calculator TA.
Great figures, but unfortunately the modern Lex doesn't tend to have all his punch except in certain scenarios, especially if you're like me and you don't own a single Kryptonite object. His Boom Tube power is pretty neat, especially if he's wildcarding a TA like Avengers or Brotherhood, where he essentially gets an attack that doesn't take from your action totals. He's a good character, don't get me wrong, but I honestly think that he shouldn't have been rare given how poorly he compares to the uncommon powerhouse that is Brainiac. :P
