Round 1 - Battle 2 (Battle Report)

The first 100 Heroclix pieces made that are 100pts each are going to battle it out to see which one stands alone. In Round 1, each battle features 20 pieces fighting to survive to make it to the finals!

20 are gathered inside a strange small area surrounded by an inescapable wall of energy. What happens next is best told by those who watch...


Uatu: We are back here to witness this next bizarre battle--

Bob, the Monitor: It's already starting! Did you see that?!

U: Yes, I did! Supergirl starts things off with a blast directly into the hull of the USS Hood. And that's not all, as Iceman glides and gives a cold shoulder to the Kryptonian Renegade, while Wonder Woman avoids the cold blast and remains ready to act from her handsome steed.

B: Bane calls out the Kryptonians and quickly grabs up a manhole cover slamming it into the Krytonian Renegade with a precision that cripples! And blasting into action Iron Man swoops in and claims the KO before the Renegade could even react!

U: You cannot come unprepared to this kind of battle... whatever kind of battle this is. And Red Skull seizes a chance to fire a gun into the USS Hood, apparently unprepared to deflect HYDRA weaponry.

B: In quick succession a string of failures trouble several combatants -- Wonder Woman, The Comedian, One of the Nine, Indigo-1, and the ailing Hood all attempt and fail to connect against their targets.

U: Then a couple of surprises take place as Salaak and Dhalsim both use their power to reposition some fighters. Volstagg is moved next to Lead and Tin and Indigo-1, while Hourman is made to deal with Captain America and Black Adam.

B: Uatu, not sure if you spotted it, but Volstagg wound up, then had to shift gears right before making a strike at Lead and Tin, and then POW! (Crit Hit!) Indigo-1 gets hit HARD and smacked all the way over to Supergirl... and that cannot be a good thing...

U: Bob, that looked brutal. And speaking of... it looks like Hourman drew the aggression of his new neighbors as both Cap and Black Adam deliver some serious damage to the android.

B: Looks like Hourman is making a run for it... but it's not clear if there's anywhere to run in this small little patch of turf. His time... it might be up, Uatu.

U: You depress me with your puns, but right you are, Bob. Oh my, it looks like Supergirl wasn't the threat that Indigo-1 needed to worry about, as she chokes out to a KO in a cloud of the Red Skull's deadly uhhh...gas...of some kind.

B: Tough way to go, U-tu.

U: Please don't call me that, Bob.

B: Oh ho! The crew of the USS Hood showing signs of life! They slam into Iceman and force him back, giving the ship a small amount of room to breathe.

U: You spoke too soon there, partner, as Supergirl jumps in and scores a KO knocking out the Starfleet vessel! And it looks like Red Skull isn't done yet, as he manages to score a shot on Dhalsim who ignores retaliation, and instead scores his own KO, finishing up Hourman's remaining bit of artificial life.

B: You mean his time ran--

U: Shut up, Bob.

B: Won't do it! 'Cause the hits just keep on comin'! Comedian lands a shot that actually hurts Black Adam; and Wonder Woman charges in to knock around Bane. Then Volstagg lays into Lead and Tin this time and back across the field Captain America puts the shield into Bane's face! You know, I wonder how he eats with that mask...

U: No time to wonder because Black Adam has made a point of charging over and KO-ing the movie star, capitalizing on Wonder Woman and Cap softening him up.

B: There's a lot of folks taking a moment to catch their breath this battle... but what's this?

U: It looks like gone gone is the form of man, and here he comes... The Demon arrives and delivers a hit to One of the Nine.

B: Perhaps taking offense to the tattered threads look being flaunted a little more effectively by the Nazgul.

U: Weird theory, Bob. Looks like people have gotten their wind back and start to make moves... this time it's Iron Man landing a hit on Supergirl, trying to knock the Kryptonian teen off her game, but it looks like the hit may have just made her mad...

B: Comedian again no laughing matter as he manages to score another hit on Black Adam. He is just lining up his shots really well today.

U: Precision is definitely an asset. But sometimes, so is a horse! Wonder Woman again charging and this time trampling Captain America who cannot regain his footing to hit back.

B: One of the Nine decides to stop playing and cuts deep into The Demon. And the Nazgul tries to fight through the mystical backlash only to get The Demon clawing him back with devastating force!

U: One of the Nine cannot have much left after The Demon cut as deeply as it looks like he can.

B: Mindgames going on for Salaak who seems unable to find a target... but finally sends some green into the red, white, and blue and Captain America has almost nothing left... and Black Adam takes the rest, scoring the KO on the super soldier.

U: Meanwhile Volstagg continues to deliver crushing blows. Again Lead and Tin take the hit and they cannot escape the Asgardian's confrontation.

B: Purple Man was apparently hiding in the corner the whole time! He's finally decided to act and reaching into Iceman's mind to attempt a hit on One of the Nine, but Bobby Drake proves a poor choice to manipulate this time... and it's not clear how someone "Cold as Ice" reacts to "Head Games".

U: Please don't use Foreigner songs for jokes. Back to the inaction as it looks like everyone takes a moment to catch themselves... but while doing so Lead and Tin decide to affect things elsewhere... robbing Red Skull of his tricks!

B: And Supergirl capitalizes with a scorching blast of heat vision! Red Skull is in big trouble!

U: Iron Man continues to land strong hits, this time Dhalsim gets a face full of repulsors. But the street fighter doesn't back down and manages to disrupt Iron Man's suit just a bit.

B: Tony's confidence might be shaken with a hit like that.

U: The hooves are on the move again. Wonder Woman just runs over Black Adam and scores a KO for the effort!

B: She's got a horse and she knows how to use it, Uatu.

U: Exactly. Elsewhere it looks like Salaak makes another interesting calculation, sending The Demon over at Volstagg and Lead and Tin.

B: I don't think he wanted to tussle with the mystical beast and I don't blame him!

U: Volstagg looks like he wants to bring down another big hit, but at the last second he stops himself from striking what appears to him to be the Lady Sif and as he adjusts to swing at The Demon it looks like he just lost his balance and tripped over his own feet (Crit Miss!).

B: Not sure he can see his feet over that stomach. But I'm sure he's feelin' 'em.

U: Lead and Tin take the moment to make a break for it and run across the field to hopefully less dangerous foes and Purple Man gets hands on and KO's One of the Nine on his own! Quite a surprise!

B: Looks like Iceman tried to catch Purple Man off guard, but that weirdo has too many "Head Games".

U: Okay, don't recycle your Foreigner jokes. I can't believe I need to say those words out loud. Elsewhere, Iron Man avoids his problems with Dhalsim by flying across the board and YES! he scores a KO on Red Skull.

B: And then there's an oh no moment as the Comedian makes our blooper reel apparently not realizing that attempting to shoot lead and tin with lead might lead something to ricochet and hit himself (Crit Miss!). That kind of mistake could cost him dearly.

U: Salaak gives a long look at Lead and Tin but something changes his mind and he sets his emerald light to smacking Purple Man. Purple Man can't hit back, but does take the opportunity to exhaust Iceman.

B: Looks like another break in the--no wait! Dhalsim proves he is still in this delivering a hit to Wonder Woman! I don't think she saw that coming at all!

U: And speaking of not seeing it, from clear across the map Supergirl lights up Dhalsim for another KO.

B: Half the field is gone and only two will be standing when this is over... who is it gonna be?

U: Iceman finally gets his cold hands on Purple Man for a chilly punch and then a bullet fired from the Comedian finishes off Purple Man.

B: Another KO and another step closer to survival.

U: The thinning crowd means folks are going to have to consider some tougher targets. In this case Salaak lands a hit on Iceman and it looks like Volstagg still has his strength out there and Iron Man is hit hard.

B: Looks like everyone decided to--

U: Not so fast, this time it's Wonder Woman, pushing herself to slam a hot dog cart down onto Lead and Tin, finally KO-ing the duo.

B: I am tired of being wrong... so let me call this one: Supergirl unleashes the HEAT on Iceman, giving him the big thaw. Bobby is KO'd and we're down to just seven fighters left.

U: Iron Man makes a break to pick up a girder, perhaps hoping to deal with some of the larger threats remaining.

B: The Comedian gets in a punchline tagging Iron Man from across the field. Tony cannot have much left.

U: Salaak continues to manipulate rather than antagonize, this time flinging Iron Man right over to Volstagg, probably hoping that each will land a hit.

B: Could be a good strategy. We'll have to see.

U: No kidding. Hard to believe you're the best color-man in the business.

B: *sob*

U: Are you...? Oh geez, I'm sorry.

B: It's just my wife is talking about a trial sep--OH HO! Supergirl lights up the Iron Man scoring her fourth KO!

U: Glad to have you back, Bob. And it looks like Salaak plays another hunch and tosses Supergirl at Volstagg.

B: And it pays off! Supergirl gets crushed by the big man. She cannot have much left now...

U: And nearby Wonder Woman lands a hit on the Comedian, but he comes back with a deadly cut into the Amazon. She is not getting up from that.

B: Comedian scoring a KO with that hit, while also being untouchable by other fighters trying to take a shot at him. He's got all the right moves.

U: No Tom Cruise movies! Volstagg continues to rock worlds as Supergirl gets her lights punched out for good as the big man picks up a KO.

B: And then there were four!

U: That's right. Only half of these fighters will move on by the time this is over...

B: These guys are serious now. The dance is happening and no one wants to be caught holding the hot potato in this pressure cooker.

U: *sigh*

B: Oh man! No way! Volstagg again! The poor guy has fallen on his face again (Crit Miss!). This time trying to tag Salaak and just looking sad.

U: With things this close that is surely going to cost him...

B: Oh, Comedian makes a move and lands a small hit on Salaak. And before anyone comes up with an answer he finishes the job with another killer stab. Salaak is KO'd and now only three remain.

U: Volstagg and Comedian seem determined to fight it out between themselves as neither wants to risk fighting The Demon up close... but that just leaves The Demon blasting fire at them. It doesn't seem to find the target, but he seems to have an advantage.

B: Oh oh oh OH! Comedian! He cuts Volstagg so deep that the Asgardian is knocked away and looks to be on his last legs(Crit Hit!)... and then...

U: Annnnnd we have winners! A blast of hellfire burns the last bit of life and soul from the Comedian (Crit Hit!) for the last KO!

Please vote in this thread for who should move on from those KO'd. The highest vote-getter will move on to the finals for a chance at redemption and total victory! And remember that those pieces that scored several KO's can make it in through their display of brute force, as the top 5 KO-getters will move on to the finals, too!
