Round 1 - Battle 4 (Battle Report)

The first 100 Heroclix pieces made that are 100pts each are going to battle it out to see which one stands alone. In Round 1, each battle features 20 pieces fighting to survive to make it to the finals!

20 are gathered inside a strange small area surrounded by an inescapable wall of energy. What happens next is best told by those who watch...


Uatu: And this fourth battle is getting under way and I, Uatu am here to bear witness. My collegue Bob, the Monitor, is at my side ready to assist and make sure we catch all the action.

Bob, The Monitor: Exciting to be here, as always. Hey, did you get some of the--WAIT he's already--The Punisher gets things started by driving a bullet into The First Avenger before Cap can even raise his shield!

U: Cold-blooded as ever, but The First Avenger was just standing there and those kind of moments do not come often.

B: Across the map Quasar lights up so brightly... but it looks like it was mostly just a flash with little substance.

U: Only the Sentinel Mark I seems to have felt any ill-effect from Quasar's blast (1 hit so far)... but the USS Defiant follows up with a full blast into the Sentinel.

B: That robot looks like a few gears have been knocked loose... and POW! Supergirl is not willing to wait to see what Johnny Storm is going to say as he is crushed by the Kryptonian and a wrecking ball she got from somewhere.

U: We see the IKS Kronos One fly to the other side of the field away from several of these heavy hitters.

B: Thing picks up a dumpster and fails to find the mark on Bishop who in turn unleashes a powerful hit that catches Thing completely off guard. Just a devastating hit that put Thing back against the side of the arena.

U: Sinestro unleashes a blast of yellow that silences Johnny Storm before we ever hear his battle cry, and elsewhere Abomination lands a big gamma-powered hit on Ronan the Accuser before he has a chance to let fly with his own energy.

B: Instead Ronan just turns around and CRACKS Bishop with a big hit. Bishop was looking good dealing with Thing, but Ronan just reminded the mutant that some of the folks out here and so much more than he's used to dealing with.

U: Looks like the engines stalled on the IKS Bortas and Kilowog slams it with a blast of green.

B: And we have another early knock-out as Young Superman swoops in and puts Bishop down for the count. And it looks like he's being sized up by the field.

U: While a few others move about that field, the Dark Knight shows no fear at all and smacks Sinestro solidly.

B: Looks like a lot of folks are trying to catch their breath out there... but a few press the attack! IKS Kronos One is able to lock phasers on the Punisher for a hit that punches through his armor. That opens up a moment for The First Avenger to get a moment of paypack, smacking Punisher in the jaw and sending him reeling back. He looks to follow up with a hit on Thunderstrike, but is showing signs of his earlier injury from Punisher.

U: Looks like Abomination has made a leap across over to Hourman who looks like he just took his Miraclo.

B: And Dark Knight again lays into Sinestro. He's just too big a target out there.

U: Size definitely seems to be working against the big guys out here. Elsewhere, Punisher is on the move and takes a passing shot at The First Avenger that sails by.

B: Looks like the Bortas has managed to get loose and makes its way over next to Punisher, perhaps sensing his warrior spirit. OW! My eyes!

U: Yes indeed. Quasar let rip with a much more intense blast this time. Not only is that Sentinel still being punished, but Kilowog, Invisible Woman, Ronan, and the USS Defiant all feel a sting (that's 5 total).

B: The crew of the USS Defiant get their systems back online and again hammer away at the Sentinel, trying to score a KO, but the machine just seems to hold itself together.

U: Supergirl likes her spot in the shadow of Sinestro's size , but still slaps him around. And Thing steps up to Young Superman and lands a hit as well! Young Superman tries to respond, but Thing just steps aside as the punch hits him with nothing more than a breeze.

B: The First Avenger is rocked backwards as Thunderstrike rattles the very ground trying to keep everyone at bay.

U: Looks like everyone is taking a breath again... but Kronos One fires and hits Punisher again.

B: And AGAIN the First Avenger knocks Punisher around just adding to his injuries. OOO-WOW... What was that sound?

U: That would be what happens when Abomination brings down a vending machine on the head of Hourman. He is looking wobbly out there now.

B: OH! Maybe he was just playing possum because he just clocked Abomination!

U: Across the field Dark Knight finally turns out the lights on Sinestro. It looks like Punisher is trying to get bandaged up, but the Bortas puts a stop to it and Punisher is out of the fight.

B: No flash photography!

U: That wasn't a camera, it looks like it was Quasar still not finding the handle on his output. Not even the Sentinel was touched by that blast of light.

B: But it was just blasted by phasers and pieces of the Sentinel land around the USS Defiant.

U: Looks like Supergirl might have wanted to take out Sinestro and deprived of that, she delivers a fly-by smack to Dark Knight. Dark Knight tries to answer back, but the girl of steel is just too quick. Thunderstrike piles on and pegs Dark Knight for another hit... he looks like he's gonna drop.

B: Thing again lands the ka-bam on Young Superman and again Superkid cannot answer. Yancy Street never would have bet on this one!

U: Abomination lands another big hit on Hourman. It's not clear how much Rick has left in him... but it's just enough to dodge a blast from Ronan.

B: The kid has heart, that's for sure. And while everyone else is trying to get their wind back Hourman tries desperately to connect, but cannot make it happen.

U: The Bortas starts to go to work on The First Avenger, but he doesn't seem to have any quit in him. And there's another blast from Quasar that manages to do some damage to Kilowog and Invisible Woman, and shakes up the crew of the Defiant who scramble away and divert power to their shields.

B: Looks like Dark Knight turned around at the flash, and Supergirl came in and decisively put him down. And seemingly never down is Thing again landing a hit on Young Superman and Young Superman just has no comeback. Thing is just handing him his backside.

U: Looks like Hourman finally ran out of time. Abomination just had his number and never relented. Across the arena it looks like Invisible Woman has hit Kilowog with something he never saw coming and the Green Lantern cannot answer back.

B: Ronan watches as Thunderstrike lands and then shows him his hammer up close as Thunderstrike takes the hit.

U: The First Avenger finds a way to damage the Klingon ship Bortas, but all his effort just provoked them and the Bortas lights up Steve and takes him out of the fight.

B: Oh wow... looks like Invisible Woman softened up Kilowog just in time as Quasar unleashed another blast, and this time she was able to fend off the energy, but Kilowog just had to take it... and that opens up Supergirl to heat vision Kilowog right out of consciousness.

U: And another debt gets paid as Thunderstrike shows Ronan a "real" hammer.

B: Ronan is not getting up from that one, and actually by my count that's half KO'd.

U: That's what I'm seeing, too... and while Thunderstrike was looking pretty pleased with himself, Abomination walked up with a... fax machine... I think, and went all office space on Thunderstrike.

B: Invisible Woman wants to get away from Quasar and heads to the far corner. Hard to say if that's going to be far enough...

U: Abomination isn't done with Thunderstrike and delivers another hit. He is just a monster out there.

B: You don't say? Abomination is a monster? Any other news? Is water still wet?

U: *sigh*

B: Oh, looks like Abomination doesn't get the KO as the Bortas blasts Thunderstrike out of the match.

U: Klingons don't have long to celebrate though as the Defiant hits them with a phaser burst... and then in turn the Federation ship is rocked by Supergirl who tries to keep some distance from the remaining fighters.

B: Oh the huma--hmm...Klingonity? Whatever. The Bortas was just destroyed by the Kronos One! Not sure there was honor in that one, but that blast was more than I thought the ship was even capable of!

U: You done?

B: Yes.... why?

U: You missed Thing land ANOTHER hit on Young Superman who cannot find his feet to esca--

B: That opens it up for Abomination to get the KO and Young Superman is done. I didn't miss that.

U: Looks that way. Anyway... there's a little repositioning... and then Supergirl swoops closer to unleash the heat on Kronos One only to apparently catch some strange bounce from their deflector shields and Supergirl feels her own burn!

B: With Young Superman out of the way, Thing wants some KOs and decides to take a swing on Invisible Woman who takes the hit and all she can do is push Thing away to try and get some breathing room.

U: Away from that corner Abomination smash-lands on the USS Defiant and that crew can only scatter from the wreckage as they are done in this fight.

B: Only a half-dozen left standing at this point...and the Kronos One lands a hit that hurts Supergirl! Those Klingons really have fight out there!

U: Oh my... it looks like Susie's move again Ben left him in the wrong place and Quasar unleashes a blast that only hits Thing (That's six!).

B: Supergirl is not playing. She just flew to Abomination and... man. She hit him HARD where it HURT.

U: Unsettling, for sure. Thing moves into the fray and Abomination and Invisible Woman both fail to land a hit and Ben tries to set himself up.

B: Klingons?! Come on! I swear they just put their own life support power into that blast that has crippled Supergirl out there.

U: Ruthless warriors, to be sure. Thing and Abomination trading misses out there... surely someone is going to--

B: Yes, he is. Quasar just lets fly at Thing and Invisible Woman and the sheer force slams them both against the forcefield around this place and the shock is enough to knock Invisble Woman out.

U: Supergirl is still playing for a win, but can't land a hit on Abomination, but Thing steps up and flattens the beast for a KO.

B: Ooo... that was short-lived as those Klingons again lay waste, this time putting Thing down and out.

U: And then there were three... and oh... oh... OH!

B: Each of them is blasting away at the other and no one can connect! Quasar moves in hoping to get the right lines of sight... and then The IKS Kronos One delivers the final hit to Supergirl for the last KO.
