Our previews for the DC HeroClix: Batman set continue as we visit with a scientist who has come back to haunt the Caped Crusader several times. At one point, he even impersonated Batman! Please welcome Professor Hugo Strange!
WOW the ability to put guys with activation clicks on their good clicks early (I'm looking at you T-bolt Ross) plus the ability to shut down outwit and perplex......sign me up for an appointment with this Dr.
Awesome. I like the dial. Giving low cost guys Super Strength, Quake, and Charge is nothing to sneeze at. You could team him with The Joker and his Henchmen for an underworld theme. Also a great way to move objects around. Give a guy super strength, next turn he loses it and drops the object.
You also could get an 11 attack mind controller by using Batman enemy and the ability to negate other Outwit and Perplex.
It also seems comic accurate.
As I said when we got a pic of this guy awhile ago. I will need to to put the head on a Batman figure.
"Boo Hoo, Why doesn't(insert favorite character here) have (insert power here) like this new clix?"
I liked everything going on with the dial until I saw he was 89 points. It doesn't really matter how useful he is if he's just going to die in 2 meager hits from anyone capable of rolling a 6.
His trait and special are very very cool, but both of them require that he's close to combat. While he may be able to get some degree of safety by basing an enemy so he has an 18 defense up close, his ranged defense is so non-existent that I worry about him being a 89 point liability.
As long as the ruling is that Outwit is "turned-off" when Hugo is within 4-squares of the Outwitter, he will be worth every point!
Monster Men Serum will be great to get past the activation clicks, but will also be extremely effective to add mobility to Arkham Asylum or Gotham Underworld teams. Arkahm Asylum Inmate 004B can greatly benefit from this SP.

Almost 90 points for what he does is criminal. He's an expensive way to deal with activation clicks. Or from another angle, he's a pricey way to make a marginal figure better for one click. And I've never been a fan of powers that deal unavoidable damage just for having the pleasure of using them. Shutting off Outwit is good, but with that range of four it's just another missed opportunity. He could have been good, if not great, but as he stands I'm going to be tired of seeing him long before the set ever comes out. Ugh.
wow damn near 90 points for that? five clicks of life....no damage reducers. anyone with a decent range will rock this guy. maybe no bat hero will have more the four range and that power makes more sense. untill i see it in play i'll be pissed i pulled one.
Very fragile for the cost. Maybe in higher point games you can afford to protect him. Dont discount free charge and ss. Abuse that batman enemy and give a henchman 11 attack next to joker and go to town. Let the batman enemy boost attack on your pawns and let strange boost the damage.

Huh. Good point. I was too busy thinking about offensive options and best combos that I missed that little tactical boon. Thanks for pointing that out!
