Last year, after winning HeroClix World Championship, I ended up with more stuff then I knew what to do with ... so I decided to give it away. A local player told me I'd get huge crowds with the level of stuff I'd be giving away, so I decided to make it a charity event. One long wild ride later we ended up at the Convention Center during EpicCon and raised over $2,400 for DKMS Americans, the world's largest bone marrow center.

You may recall that this was all done for my cousin Joshua. Sadly that charity event was the last public thing he ever did. He was in the hospital the next week and passed away that November.

In his memory I've decided to make this an annual event.

So on Sept 15th at 1PM in Redcaps Corner (3617 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia PA) we will be hosting the second annual Probs for Swabs!

So how will this run?

Just like last year, the tournament will be a 400 point sealed event using Chaos War boosters with $1 dollar probs for charity in effect.

We will also have a raffle just like last year and like last year tickets will be $3 dollars apiece and 4 for $10.

Furthermore just like last year we'll have space set up for anyone who wishes to become an actual bone marrow donor. Anyone who signs up will win a free raffle ticket! Last year the winner of the white lanterns was a marrow ticket!

We have many MANY prizes up for grabs please see the actual event thread for the almost full list. Just for attending you will walk out with at MINUMUM 2 LE's, a pair of custom dice, a map, and a White Lantern Sinestro. That's REGARDLESS of where you place!!

Top prize will be a COMPLETE SET of 2012 Convention LE's!! We also have IG LE's, full gauntlets, chases, SRs, maps, shirts dice, you will have a blast and walk out with some awesome swag.

Very excited for this event on Saturday. A great event for an excellent cause. It's well worth the trip and a great chance to meet players from all over the area.

I agree. I mean, you get to buy two boosters of Chaos War and at that point you already won at least $35 worth of stuff and just have to work your way up. Don't forget there are several Thanos colossals to be had as well.

I do intend to try and make this an annual event. We got a TON of donations this year and I hope for the same next year.

As much as I would like to, I cannot attend. I will tey my damndest to go next year.

I wish I could find time away to attend, but perhaps I can plan for next year... And if not at least donate something to a good cause.
