Post DC HeroClix: Batman Preview #15 - Red Robin
Welcome back to another preview from the DC HeroClix: Batman set. Today we visit a hero who deduced the Caped Crusader’s secret identity and became his sidekick. Today’s preview then eventually struck out on his own and changed his identity to lead the latest version of the Teen Titans; we are pleased to present Tim Drake, Red Robin!

es/d and only has toughness against range? i guess thats ok on a titans team... but with the bat family, eh. too much for a taxi. i might have thought differently if he started with running shot :/

He's a great short range attacker. Flight, carry, ESD + Toughness + possible Stealth. Perplex and Outwit to help the team and hurt the opposing team. 80pts is cheap, too!

Hmmm... This dial is pretty uninspiring for Tim Drake. Not sure he's even worth his 80 points.

I really want to like this dial. I mean, I do like this dial. But it doesn't feel like an experienced Tim Drake. It's the kind of dial I'd feel better about if I knew we were getting a stronger Tim dial in the set (Are we? We probably are, right?).

But when I look at it, it feels very much like an old school Teen Titans dial. The kind I would desperately try to get synergy out of while playing a Titans team with no higher than 10 attack and 3 damage (and just barely 3, at that). Back when every single version of that team had to use a Hawk, because... yeah.

What can I say? I was young and foolish back then.

If you pair him with A Bat Ally for life-support (Stealth) you may get to do a little something with him, but the low range (4!) and mild-mannered damage output are much bigger concerns. The digital scuplt and paint look OK, but the true test is what comes out of the booster. All in all, not a figure I'll reach for often (or at all), I like my Tim Drakes better as Nightwing.

Am I the only one that hates that costume? Ugh...

Dial is OK. I would play him on a Titans team. I would change sculpts, but it wouldn't make sense with the "My wings will protect me" special.

So, wait, he only has stealth when he can copy it from a friendly Batman Ally within 8 squares...

...then, on clicks 2 & 3, he has ESD to go with the Stealth...

...and he gets Toughness, but only against ranged attacks...

...which if he is copying Stealth he should be immune to...

...and even if he isn't copying Stealth he has ESD...

...and he never gets Combat Reflexes.

Are we sure Jason was the only Robin whose training from Bruce got them killed?

For those two clicks all of his defenses are good against ranged attacks which, if wisely and thematically played, he is nearly immune to.

I echo the sentiment that the one in the Fast Forces is probably (hopefully) better, because this one is junk for 80 points.

I guess he would be more sound for a 60-65pt character, the more I look at him.

I had real high hopes for him after the AA Tim Drake. He really should have some Combat Reflexes or at least upfront running shot, and what's with the no attack powers? I know they are making the utility belt, but now I have a feeling every single member of the Batman Family is gonna need one to truly feel like their comic book counter parts *lame* -_-

I don't like this Dial for 80 points.

I don't like this dial for Red Robin.

The dial designer failed all of us with this.

So if he is with the Titans he somehow forgets how to be Stealthy?

That makes me sick.
Colossals should Carry, and Punch 2 squares away.
Tweak Mind Control and Smoke Cloud.
Battle Fury should allow you to throw objects.
