The subject of today’s DC HeroClix: Batman set preview has a past that is clouded in mystery and intrigue. What we do know, however, is Bad Samaritan has lived up to his name by clashing with the Outsiders and joining the covert agency known as Checkmate as the White Queen’s Bishop.
on one hand, 83 seems to be a lot of points to pay for stealth outwit, on the other hand, I'm not quite sure how good the outwit sharpshooter combo is yet.
I am a little disappointed by what I keep seeing previewed. I mean, I guess he'd be great for some sort of army of criminals but really...after that, meh.
I loved the Superman set and thought that when a Batman set was released it would be comparable, but this just doesn't feel the same.
Still, there are other pieces not yet revealed so I'll "Keep Calm and Carry On" til November.
This thread needs to be merged with the ONE started 30 minutes ago.
The front page news posting is always separate from the user posted one in the upcoming sets thread, and is always posed by the WizKidsNECA account. Unlike other redundant threads, they don't get merged.
Well, the dial isn't terrible, but it's no Amanda Waller. And, frankly, what the Checkmate keyword needs right now is not more Outwit and Mastermind. They need more front-line fighters. Why doesn't August General have the keyword?
As for the sculpt... wow... let's all just agree to call him "Hands-In-His-Pockets-Man", okay?
"Fear the might wrath of Hands-In-His-Pockets-Man!"
"Oh, no, it's Hands-In-His-Pockets-Man! Run!"
"Bwah-ha-ha-haaa! Now, I, Hands-In-His-Pockets-Man, shall crush the Justice League and rule the world!"
I'm sure it wouldn't have taken long to find a reference picture of this guy doing... something... for the sculptor to use. Instead, it looks like they went with his Who's Who entry picture. I found that out with Google in five seconds.
Or is this going to be a repaint special? Ooh, wait, I am calling it right here, right now: repainted as either Matches Malone or (long shot) Eel O'Brian.
Bad Samaritan? Bad Samaritan? DC, you really are the worst.
Under Mike W Barr, the original Outsiders was the source of some of the corniest names in comics. The Duke of Oil. The Nuclear Family. The Force of July (which included a taciturn Madrox-type named Silent Majority).
