Can You mind control an Adjacent opposing character (The atom from the Blackest Night Starter Set), and if the attack succeeds could I use his Indigo Compassion on myself to heal myself?
Can You mind control an Adjacent opposing character (The atom from the Blackest Night Starter Set),
Yes.
From the Blackest Night PAC:
Quote
MIND CONTROL Give this character a power action; it makes a close combat or ranged combat attack as a free action that deals no damage. A successfully hit target becomes friendly to your force and canceled powers and abilities return. Each target hit can be assigned one action as a free action immediately after which the target becomes an opposing character again. Any feats assigned to successfully hit targets cannot be used by this character. This character takes 1 damage for each 100 points of the successfully hit targets’ combined point value. A character with a range of 0 uses this power as if it has a locked range of 4.

Yes, assuming you meet the other requirements for The Atom to use support (for example, neither the MCer nor The Atom can be adjacent to "other opposing characters".)
i just started playing, and I want to thanks to ponx for helping me out. he has taken time out every other week to play some friendly games with me after work. he is very patient and understanding of my "new to the game" status. i never walk away from a total butt kicking without learning a thing or two.
so thanks again to ponx, he is a real player that truly cares for the game.
I'm sure this has been asked about a gazzillions times but here goes:
1) Can a Wild Card team figure use a Defenders team ability and lets say that the wild card had a higher defense value, every defender on the team share the wild card defensive value now?
2) Changing TA during a turn: Wild Card figure changes team ability to Batman> opposing team declares an ranged attack to that Wild card figure, when the figure cant attack it changes its ranged attack to a HSS attack, the WIld Card figure now declares to change to Mystics.
Is this a legal move by the Wild Card team member.

Yes, but keep in mind that Defenders requires adjacency.
From the Player's Guide:
Quote
DEFENDERS
Characters using the Defenders team ability can replace their defense value with the unmodified defense value of an adjacent friendly character using the Defenders team ability.
A wild card could use the Defenders team ability and share its defense value with all adjacent characters using the Defenders team ability (those with it printed on their base and other wild cards using it). Those characters using the Defenders team ability could in turn share that higher defense value with all characters using the Defenders team ability adjacent to them.

Keep in mind that wild cards can only change the team ability they are using in response to a declare action. So if a wild card using no team ability and in hindering terrain was targeted by a ranged combat attack, it could not copy the Batman Ally team ability as that would make the action illegal.
From p. 16 of the Blackest Night Rulebook:
Quote
A wild card may change the team ability it is using (or choose not to use a team ability) to any team ability possessed by a friendly character when an action is declared by any player but before the action begins.
...
A wild card may not change the team ability it is using if doing so would make the action illegal.
However, if the wild card is already using the Batman Ally team ability and is in hindering terrain, then a ranged combat attack cannot be declared against the wild card since that action would be illegal.
From p. 16 of the Blackest Night Rulebook:
Quote
A wild card may use a team ability that prevents an action from being declared, but it would need to begin using that team ability with the declaration of an earlier action.
So in your example, the wild card is already copying the Batman Ally team ability. No opposing character can declare a ranged combat attack against that wild card. A character then declares it is being given a power action to activate HSS. In response, the wild card may switch to Mystics. (Keep in mind this does mean an HSS attacker with range could perform a ranged combat attack as the free action during the HSS action against the wild card that is now copying Mystics.)
Question on line of fire. JJJ says "characters within lineof fire can't use the spiderman teamability." Chameleon says "characters within line of fire can't use alter egos." My question is, does line of fire have a set amount of range like outwit or perplex, being 10; or is it the printed range value?

When it just says LOF with no range mentioned then it just means LOF. There is no limit (other than the map itself) to how far it can be drawn.
Wow I'm really impressed with the response everyone has for newbies since I'm one & today I registered to this site. I really appreciate what webhead817 said & also what everyone else said. This is the first forum I read & it makes me feel welcomed. I have already spent a lot of money buying different figures & I love playing Heroclix & I'm just looking forward to become better at it with all your help. Thank you for your kindness to us noobs.
Hey everyone, just started playing the game a couple weeks ago so I'm sure this will be one of many newbie questions. My question is can locked damage be reduced or evaded or anything like that? Locked damage says that it can be the only damage as a result of a calculation. So I was wondering if they can use Spider Sense of Toughness or anything like that to reduce/evade Locked damage from say a quake.
Another question I didn't understand entirely is the action total based on how many points your army is using. It says for every 100 points of your army, your team gets 1x action. So does this mean that in 300 point games, your team can have a total of 3 actions per turn, or does it mean that you get to put 3 action tokens on a character before you push?
