I really wish they'd make an immobile non-special object. Because Zelif seems to think that blue-ringed means special and special means immobile, so if we had a blue-ringed non-special object maybe Zelif wouldn't make this mistake as easily.
FTFY. Have a nice night.

Either that, or we'll just get a bunch of threads asking what the standard immobile object does. And I bet we'd get a few people calling it a "standard special object."

Wouldn't the fact that the item is immobile make it a special object by definition, therefore making a blue-ring standard object impossible?
That is a neat idea, though, since it would basically be a square of hindering terrain wherever you want.

No. Blue-ringed only means immobile. All immobile objects in the game at the moment are also special objects, but the immobility does not make it a special object.

Gotcha. After about a minute of head-scratching and re-reading, I finally got it through my head what you initially meant.
What would an immobile standard object be? A hole? I know that's not technically an object, but I can't think of anything that could be portrayed as only a picture that Non couldn't rip out of the ground beat someone's face in with.
You could play this to make Immobile standard objects:
Quote
High Gravity: Light objects are considered to be heavy objects, and heavy objects are considered to be immobile objects. If a character carries another character during an action, deal the character 1 damage after the action resolves.
Really? And we don't have this in the physical world? That makes me sad.
Yeah. I never figured out why they are in there. I guess to gice you a hindering terrain where ever you want. It's kinda strange. What's funny is if you look at it, It looks like a rock filled with Green kryptonite... But it's not.

I'm hoping they'll be in the next starter on principle, but I really can't imagine ever using them. I can see wishing I had them on my team in some circumstances, but those circumstances would be so rare that I would never include them on my team to begin with.

A modern age 0 point immobile object would be useful for teams with stealth and no super strength, for example. Hammer of Thor won't be modern age forever, so mjolnir won't be around for that purpose.
Ah, see, I only play Golden Age, so there's always a better 0-point immobile object for me to use. : - )
I prefer Golden Age overall, but I'm not averse to a Modern Age game once in a while. Since that's the more common format for larger, more "serious" tournaments, I find it's good to keep in practice for it in case I go to one like that.
