While we are getting the umpteenth version of Thor and Iron Man, there are still oh so many more or less popular characters out there that are still waiting impatiently for their Heroclix debut.

Today I will be talking about the lady who taught the Scarlet Witch her best tricks...
Agatha Harkness!

When the dual duties of Superhero life and Parenthood proved to be too much to juggle, Reed and Sue Richards did what any wealthy, busy parents would do-- they hired a nanny. Of course, being the Fantastic Four, nothing ever ends up being normal around them, and their new nanny happens to be one of the most powerful witches in the world: Agatha Harkness.

Agatha Harkness was one of the original Salem witches (I guess those guys were right) who has been lying low ever since. While generally staying to the shadows, whenever she's had to pull out the old magic tricks she's been quite the force to deal with. She's also spawned a magical menace of a child in Nicholas Scratch, and his children the Salem's Seven. (None yet clixed... I'll be covering them at some point).

When Scarlet Witch wanted to learn real magic, as opposed to her probability-altering powers, Agatha was her teacher. That obviously didn't end too well!


Why clix her? She's a core part of Fantastic Four history, as well as being key to Scarlet Witch's development.

She's also an interesting character in her own right, being responsible for Nick Scratch and the Salem's Seven.

Who would she play with?

The Fantastic Four to start, and Scarlet Witch and Vision.

She' also right at home at any gathering of magical heroes.

I think there's also a place for a Geriatrics team out there somewhere! Imagine her, Vulture, Vandal Savage and Logan all hanging out.

Likely keywords: Fantastic Four (not an actual member, but hung with them), Mystical, Past.

What would Agatha Harkness's dial look like?

Agatha is physically pretty frail, but immensely powerful. I'd give her good range and stats, but a short dial and low movement.

Teleportation portal (Phasing/Teleport)
Magical energies (Penetrating/Psychic Blast)
Powerful witch (Pulse Wave)
Mystical wards (Super Senses)
Powerful witch (Energy Shield/Deflection)


For a special power or trait, she might be able to one-time carry teammates into battle.

I would give her the Mystics team ability. Maaaaaaaybe Fantastic Four, but probably not.

Did Harkness' training of Wanda start with the Busiek Avengers run, or was that elsewhere?

I was going to say something similar. In fact, I only want Agatha if the members of Salem's Seven arrive in the same set. Those guys (along with the original Zodiac) would be awesome to have in clix!

Way way before that. I think it was written by Steve Englehart most likely, back in the mid-70s.

I'm planning on doing an "UNCLIXED team base" for Salem's Seven, just for the novelty.
