I have a 400 point tourney coming up next weekend where we can only use one team affiliation.

Building my Brotherhood team, I was faced with a choice and I thought I'd ask for input.

Do I play a few heavy hitters and risk being swarmed, or try and get at least 6 figs on the table for my 400 points, but play weaker figs?

I was thinking about:

V Magneto
V Juggernaut
V Sabretooth
E White Queen

Total = 398

Now that looks pretty fearsome to me, but I don't get to include any support figs like medics, PCers, perplexers, etc.

How do you guys build your teams?

Well, if they all have to be of the same TA, then White Queen isn't gonna fit...can it be Marvel or DC?

Four Figs in a 400 Point game are going to get their hind quarters handed to them. You're going to need some bulk.

Try This:
Magneto (V) - Flight, Leadership, TK
Sabertooth (V) - Blades Claws, Toughness, Regen, Charge
Pyro (V) - 17 def, Barrier, 2X EE, RCE
Mystique (E) - Stealth, Perplex
Destiny (R) - Prob Control
Avalanche (V) - Pulsewave, Barrier
Sauron (U) -Charge, Claws, MC (Part of Toad's Brotherhood)
Paramedic (V) - Support

This team would destroy your 4 figs.

D*mn, that IS some Brotherhood madness.

For clarification, not all the figs have to be from Brotherhood. But I can't throw in a R Invisible Girl from another team. Get it? I just personally want to stay as themed as possible. I got some grief from purist friends of mine who played theme teams in the last tourney when they didn't have to and then called me a b*tch for using the best figs possible.



So I'm going to show them that I can win even in a themed tourney.

I like sassmatic's lineup. I'd hate to see Juggs go and I kinda wanted to see what White Queen could do. But let's say I go with that lineup. I have every fig except for U Sauron. What's the alternative?

So you know, I have every Brotherhood fig except a Spiral and a rookie Juggs. Could a Blob be introduced? SHOULD a Blob be introduced???

A theme team that does very well (although you may lack the finances) is a mutant/nightcrawler team. Mystique and gambit perplex nightcrawler, while jean grey TK's him into the opponent's backfield, he hits (for 4), and runs back. Back it up with a destiny (although can't reroll SS anymore) and Beast (more perplex) and you've got yourself a nice little themed force

As for beezly, I appreciate the input dude, and I know that Nightcrawler teams rock. Don't rub it in. I don't have a Nightcrawler. Also, I'm not allowed to mix teams, so he's out. Re-read the original post.

Cap24, I can't include the AIM Medic cuz they have Hydra team ability. Only one team ability per team.

ANyway, wtih new rules, magneto can sit on top of an object and get 20 def vs ranged while TK'ing figs and blasting them with 4 damage

R. Juggernaut is 97 for 400, and you could probably up the destiny's power level, but i dunno the pts

I can use White Queen cuz she's unaffiliated. Only one team ability can be represented per team. And we're not playing with Indy rules yet.

I agree that I need to change my thinking about Magneto now that I have his V. I've only used his R before as a support piece. His V is pretty kick-a$$.

Do you have Deathbird? She hasn't gotten along with the X-men very well either. At 70 pts she's great. No Sprial or Deathbird? Put in the Blob V at 51 pts (No one escapes the Blob) Downgrade Destiny to R and upgrade Quicksilver to the Vet. That's 400 on the nose

Just up the medic to V to get 400 even.

i personally do'nt like the V. Sabertooth, Charge is nice, but with TK, is unnecesary. 3 damage with b/c/f is just wasted. The E. Is 18 or something points lighter, which can be replaced by a r. quicksilver, who can tie up opposing figures quite easily
