(part I)
Larry wallked home from work everynight. Once in a while there might be something out of the ordinary like a fire or a police chase, But tonight was like most nights really quite and warm and he couldnt wait to get home and get a sandwhich. As his thoughts wanderd between turkey or ham a Jet flew overhead which wasn't unusual at all but it seemed to get louder and louder until it was right on top of him.
He turned around and looked up to see two giant jets descending to the ground. He didnt notice at first but they weren't jets but legs, legs attached to a giant robot body. Larry wanted to run but couldnt and there was no point he froze as a hand extend toward him and its palm iluminated a bright beam shot forth vaporizing Larry and four cars parked behind him.
Almost instantly two more Sentinels landed behind him and if Larry was there too see he would've seen dozens of them falling from the New York night sky and landing on the streets of Manhattan.
(Meanwhile)
"Ben, Ben, Get the Hell out of bed now and get your ### in gear we gotta a major problem."
Reed Richards was yelling at Ben Grim AKA Thing from across the hall, of course he was also punching him in the shoulder from across the hall too "Reed you touch me one more time with that rubber hand of yours im gonna tie it to your neck then shove your head so far up your"
Before Thing could say anything else the Baxter Building shook so violently had it been almost any other building it would've collapsed. Ben got up from the Floor and looked out the window to see the entire building surronded by sentinels.
"Johnny, Ben I need you two to distract the sentinels while Me and sue get these defenses online." Said Mr. Fantastic.
"What like toss a rock at them and say overhear"
"Yeah Johnny that should work" replied Ben.
(still MEANWHILE)
"HI IM TOM CROWBAR AND THIS IS NCB SPECIAL REPORT AT LEAST 50 GIANT ROBOTS ARE DEVASTING NEWYORK CITY TONIGHT ATTACKING EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING IN SITE WE GO NOW LIVE TO BAXTER BUILDING WHERE THE WORLDS OLDEST SUPERHERO FAMILY IS TRYING TO FIGHT AT LEAST 20 OF THESE ROBOTS, NOW JENNY WHAT CAN YOU SEE IS GOING ON DOWN THERE"
"WELL TOM JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO A SOMEONE ON FIRE FLEW OUT OF ONE OF THE UPPERSTORY WINDOWS CARRYING A BIG ROCK. HE FLEW THE ROCK INTO ONE THE ROBOTS. AFTER THAT THIS GIANT ROCK GOT UP AND STARTED MOVING AROUND IT WAS REALLY STRANGE TOM."
"JENNY ARE THEY STILL FIGHTING THE ROBOTS."
"NO TOM THE ROBOTS HAVE MOVED ON THE BUILDING IS NOW RUBBLE"

For a state of the art superhero compound the X-Mansion does a very good job of blending into its surrondings. It looks like it belongs in Westchester, MA. The mansion however is for those who do not belong who dont fit in, and right now they are very dismayed for usually a Sentinel attack would be in their backyard but this time it was the Fantastic Four's. "Logan this makes no sense. Sentinels attacking humans and the Fantastic Four. For what reason and who or what is behind this."
Logan AKA Wolverine starred at the Television and puffed on his cigar a little.Somehow looking concerned and at the same time not concerned at all. Normally Professor X isnt a big supporter of smoking rights but Jean grey was kind enough to telekenis the smoke out a window so logan could burn one.
He took one long draw and spoke as smoke rolled out his mouth. "Chuck why do you ask retorical questions so much."
"Logan im worried about this one we are short handed right now there are quite a few Sentinels and all we need is one CPU core from one of them dont try to take them all on. when you get the CPU go to the fantastic four compound and let Reed Richards examine it. The Baxter building is fine the Destruction of it was a Holographic image. I gave them some Shi'ar Technology a while back. Get there quickly but be careful."
(Meanwhile again)

Sill the middle of the night in New York but tonight looks far from a normal New York night. Flares light up the sky to help track the movements of the sentinels as tanks roll into postion to try and stop the Devastation. Its an ugly sight as the massive sentinels march down manhattan stomping on cars blasting everything in sight and attacking almost every building. Fires are burning across their path and the roads are too blocked with debris for firetrucks to drive through. The Firehydrants are almost all destroyed as water floods into the streets and overfills the storm drains. The thick dense smoke makes it nearly impossible to breathe.
A column of five tanks slowed down they realized they where close by the level of destruction and anxiety set in the men. one of them a short balding older man with a little mustache got on the radio "This is Colonel Flint with Group Echo we have come into contact with the enemy request support, over"
No response came he repeated the transmission still nothing. "They must be jamming our signal, alright boys look sharp keep moving, too stand still is too die."
The tanks kept moving in a V wedge formation unsure if they where getting closer or further away at this point. as the lead tank crossed an intersection with the traffice lights on the ground and two of the buildings on the cornes in a blazing inferno. Colonel Flint could almost sense what was coming and when it happend he was not the least surpised. As he watched the lead tank cross the intersection a bright yellow beam shot off its left track causing the tank and the rest of the formation to stop.
Even with only one track the tank still turned its turret to get a shot off. As the Gun rotated the tank took severale more blasts until its turret crushed in. "MOVE IN NOW" shouted Flint.
The four remaing tanks roared through the intersection with its guns turned down the street ready to open a blaze of fire. As they turned the corner they saw four thirty foot tall sentinels just waiting for them. The Tanks got off the first shots all four tanks shooting the same sentinel in chest. The robot looked at its chest and fell to its side crushing a building.
The remaing sentinels returned fire but the four tanks where driving away. The sentinels gave chase and fired shots at the tanks missing badly. Running at full speed one of the sentines took a shell square in the head and dropped, its full weight and momentum came crashing down on the street. The two remaing sentinels walked into a intersection at the next street and didnt realize they where surronded with a few quick acurate shots they dropped easily.
The men didn't even celebrate not one of them had forgotten they just lost a whole tank crew. "Alright good work men we have to keep moving we need to rejoin the rest of the group."
They started to head back when the group saw through the smoke Sentinel after Sentinel walking towards them. They where now to far outnumbered to make any resitance and quickly tried to go the other way. It too was blocked off with giant Robots walking their way.
