In an recent article by Lancelot (The Streak Of Red), he says that Flash can combine his Hypersonic Speed with his JLA Team Ability so he can make an attack without costing his team an action.
Uh, since when? I looked through the new FAQs and couldn't find any changes that would make that possible. And I certainly know that it wasn't done that way in previous versions of the game.
So what changes were done that makes Lancelot think that the JLA Team Ability (or and of the other free move TA's) allows one to use Hypersonic Speed to make an attack and not sue up any team actions.
I like this and at the same time I do not. I like flash being able to run up and ping someone for one damage without it counting towards my actions for the turn, however, I don't like the idea of a team using a multi perplexed super flash and not worrying about his attack counting towards the actions for the turn...
Either way Flash just got much better, frankly, I think he deserved the boost. He didn't get enough respect so far in the clix world.
"Come on Hulk! Where's the old boasting? The battle cries? Why aren't you bellowing about how you're 'the strongest one there is'? Could it be because... you know it's not true?"
"No. Because it's just too obvious."

It still sounds like a mistake to me. Using HSS to simply move, such as passing by enemy figures without having to stop is legal. If you use HSS to attack it's no longer a move action, but an attack. Attacks are never freebies.

I agree. I think it goes against the idea behind the JLA (and other similar) Team Abilities (to represent a team that's able to move often but not neccesarry attack more often). I think it's just Whizkids not realizing how the wording would affect a rare power/team combo. I fully expect that a correction will be made (I will be posing this question on the Whizkids Forums to see how quickly the rules guru changes this).
It flies against the clarifications against the JLA Team Ability of the past (where they specifically stated that the JLA ability doens't allow you to attack for "free", just move regardless of wording that may suggest otherwise.)
what s power being gh3y have to do with anything, anyhoo?
honestly, im pretty sure they ll keep it that way, the flash being the sole benefactor of such powers, and remember he isnt stealthed, so just outwit the heck out of it...yes, easier than said, but it s a start

The other reason why I think this goes against previous rulings regarding the JLA Team Ability; is that they made a change via the first FAQ after IndyClix that Phasing doesn't work with JLA. It would seem strange for them to clarify that one particular power not work with the JLA (Phasing), then for them to change the rules so that another power (which involves attacking targets someting that they made sure through repetition that people didn't try to use the JLA ability when using an attack) work with it.

It is not a mistake. They've had time to change it and haven't so it's no mistake on their part. It was meant to be used that way. It also clearly states that option 1 of a Hypersonic attack is a move action (not a move that becomes an attack) thus it never becomes an attack... it simply has that effect...

Phasing does not work, because it is now a power action, not a move action. HSS #1 is a move action. JLA/Avengers/Top Cow etc. allow you to use a move action without taking from your allotment.
