Number three of my 1000pt. themed Heroclix team threads brings all the nightmarish (no pun intended) monsters and beings from other dimmensions to the table on one VERY NASTY and VERY UGLY team.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Millennial Madness team #3:
"The Dimensional Horde"
- U Dormammu 206pts.
- U Nightmare 163pts.
- V Ulik 147pts.
- V Annihilus 129pts.
- V Blastaar of Baluur 138pts.
- U Enchantress 91pts.
- E Umar 69pts.
- U Spiral 56pts.
=999pts.
If you have the pieces, go ahead and swap out the Veteran Annihilus and Blastaar for their LE versions and bump up Umar to her Veteran form. The running shot pulse wave combos on both Annihilus and Blastaar of Baluur will help make up for the smaller size force.
As strategy goes, you can team up Nightmare with Dormammu and move 'em up together to increase Dormammu's psychic blast shot to a 4 damage. Enchantress is there to boost Annihilus's or Blaastar's running shot damage, or even add another point to Dormammu's damage. Nightmare, Spiral, Ulik and Blastaar are close-combat monsters, while Dormammu, Umar, Annihilus and Enchantress are better at range. Eventually, Umar picks up TK to help in the suprise attack dept. and Dormammu gets outwit to deal with opposing characters' bothersome offensive and defensive powers.
There are only two fliers, but they are good for picking off the wounded or bringing in a bruiser with 'em to a target to base 'em until next turn. The LE versions of the Negative Zone baddies are good for flanking runs. Their pulse wave/running shot combos can really mess up first click outwit in stealth, medics, con artists and the like. Or, make sure there's only one opposing clix in range and do the whole damage to 'em.
Overall, this team is meant for fun, high-point games, but it would be a hard team to crack in a simple slug fest. Lots of invulnerability, high stats, some running shot, psychic blast and high damage potential will be the things to worry your opponent. Numbers on your opponent's team might worry you. It may be wise to be sure not to give an action to every clix every turn they're fee. Be aware of what kind of predicament you may end up in if you have a token on your whole team after one turn.
Truth. Justice. Honor.
If we want them in our world we need to cultivate them in ourselves.
