HCWF Wrestling Tournament: Round 1, Match 5
The duo of JackAssterson and discombobulous proudly bring you the continuing tournament of some of the greatest (and not so) wrestlers of all time.

In the style of DTM's tournaments, we ask that you vote for the man you think will win, along with a short reason as to why. It is to be assumed that all wrestlers are performing in their prime.

On with the show!

Our first combatant for this match is none other than the Immortal Hulk Hogan. A man who has held countless World Titles and beaten everything that has ever been thrown at him. But, is he fast enough for...

His opponent, the high-flying Rey Mysterio Jr! One of the most talented luchadores to ever grace mainstream wrestling in the United States, Rey has been able to defeat opponents much larger than himself before. Can he do it again?

stipulation:
iron man match

round 1:
Jake "The Snake" vs. The Big Show (Jake "The Snake")
HHH vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper (HHH)
Owen Hart vs. Jeff Jarrett (Owen Hart)
Shane Douglas vs. Steve Austin (Steve Austin)
Hulk Hogan vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. (?????)

"Rey Rey" Mysterio makes "ThreeMove" Hogan look in this match like he should have his whole career....mediocre.

And, in case any of you were wondering why I call him "Three Move":

Punch (which were the reason for me figuring out wrestling was fake...when I was 9. Worst punches ever.)

"Big" Boot (which he could barely get above his waist the past 10 years...)

Leg Drop (which some guys have been doing off the TOP ROPE for the past decade without three counts, but Hogan gets the win from a "normal" one?)

Hogan sucks. LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE WEST COAST POP!

Late last year a friend gave me Hogan's biography book to read. I read it in about two days (hey, it's not Moby ####, what'd you expect?).

I came away with a new respect for him and all that he did for wrasslin'.

I give this match to Hulk Hogan.
Hmmmm... I got nothin'

Hulk Hogan has defied so many odds in his career....against the BIGGEST CHALLENGES possible. The problems that Hogan has had in his career for th most part have come against the guys who aren't the biggest. Piper, Sting, Macho Man, but all great WRESTLERS. There are many Hogan of old wouldn't even face...Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Bret Hart (WWF). Forget about facing Luchadors. Hogan is strictly a power based wrestler who knows a FEW holds that get him by against most. A skilled high flyer like Rey would tire him out do the West Coast Pop and wait for the Hulk Up. Three punches, whip into the ropes, Big...wait! Baseball slide! Hogan turns around and single leg into the ropes...DIAL IT UP! West Coast Pop a second time only into a top rope legdrop for insult to injury. ONE TWO THREE!

Heck I'd even have a hard time putting Hogan over ZACK GOWAN!

Winner...Rey.

PS it's rumored that Hogan might make a WM XX appearance. Do you know why? Because he heard Macho Man won't be there....stay tuned. lol

While I usually refrain from voting in these, we do have a tie, and this is a match that I want to throw in my two cents for.

Hulk Hogan in his prime could get a win over anybody in all of wrestling as far as I'm concerned, so he would pin Rey first.

But this is an iron man match, and even in his prime, Hogan's stamina can't match Rey Mysterio.

I see the winner as the man of mystery himself...Rey Mysterio Jr!

I will vote for Hulk Hogan. Rey is great, but one good solid elbow leg drop and rey is down for the count.

6-1-9!
Rey Mysterio all the way. Hogan would be lucky if he doesn't kill over from a heart attack in this match.
